Another use for this handy item is as a "seam ripper"...just gently "pull" open the two fabric pieces sewed together and then run the teeth of the device on the threads and it will cut the threads and not the fabric. Really makes quick work of ripping a sewing seam...their is a mini hair trimmer by Wahl that does the same thing but it is a bit larter...also works great and covers a bigger surface.

Can't wait to get one! I bet it will help with the organza edges on the ornaments and paper doll clothes. I think I saw one "As Seen on TV". Excellent tip! Live Laugh Download Stitch!

I read reviews on those things and was surprised at the poor ratings. They are also incredibly expensive here (USA). I may take another look. Thank you for the heads-up with yet another gadget that works in the sewing room. :)

Will keep my eyes open for one in the pound shops. I'm still looking for fancy shoe laces that Sue Dewsbury found in a pound shop. Jan

I found fancy shoe laces at Lincraft were very cheap Some black and silver some colours with flowers on and many plain good for loops on Sues zip purses. Hugs joyce

Thanx for this info. Have you put it to the test? I am going to ask my daughter in UK to get me 2, one for my embroidery and the other for DH who will use it for the reason it was made!! LOL

Did you get it from a £ shop or Argos? Have seen them cheaply in Argos. Have fun with your new purchase
