Greetings everyone. I had carpal tunnel release surgery yesterday on my left hand. I have a huge bandage on my left wrist for the next two weeks. Plenty of pain meds and DH is waiting on me hand and foot. The Dr. said that my nerves had been severely pinched. No sewing, embroidering for me until the bandage is removed.

Hope you are well on the way to normality by now. I had both of mine done 20 years ago and the relief was amazing. I was sad enough to watch the operations as well! Both of my sisters have had the same and one of them had both wrists done at the same time!

Just think how much better you will feel once it heals so just relax, take it easy and enjoy having a dear sweet hubby. And their is no way I would have both hands done at the same time........how would I be able to chat and read answers and questions from Cuties?

I will be praying for you to heal quickly and painlessly! I am sorry you will be missing your sewing for a while, but now you can use the time to plan your next creative projects, or as some might say, "daydream!" Daydream away with permission from your doctor!! Hugs and God Bless, ro

You will feel so much better...I had both wrist done and I am like a new person. No more pain and numbness. I did not have a lot of pain healing either. You get back to normal very quickly so don't worry. After the stitches are out in a week it is a breeze. Suzanne

I guess it sounds like it would be a good time to catch up on tv, movies, and reading. Do as the Dr. says and hopefully in two weeks you will be back to 100% or at least very close to it. Best wishes for your speedy recovery. Hugs for you. Mary

A couple weeks is not too long. I am sure you need to limit your c omputer time also, so I will say get lots of rest and plan your projects! Soon you will be Stitchin again!

Cindy, so sorry to hear that you had to have the surgery - I have been suffering with this same thing for a couple years - I am glad to hear that your DH is waiting on you hand and foot - do whatever it takes to mend and repair - so that you can get back to your creative self, soon. I will be praying for you.

Worked with a lady that wouldn't get her surgery done if they didn't do both hands at the same time. Her DH was also an angel. Hope your recovery goes fast for you.

Never have 2 hands done at the same time-for one thing you can't wipe your bottom-and try putting on a bra!!! Always have one hand done at a time. I've had both mine done over a period of years. Love Chris

read180 by read180 15 Jul 2012

I would never want to do both at once

capoodle by capoodle 16 Jul 2012

She admitted she was chicken and her DH did all that for her. Can't imagine being that afraid but her doctor agreed to it.

It is great that your DH is helping you. Mine is very kind that way. I've had both hands done and very glad I did. Hope you will heal up real fast. I was fising on the Great Lakes the next day with my pain pills. Hubby held the pole and I reeled the fish in. He is the best, and I thank God for him.
Will be praying for you. Hugs, Judy
