wonderful. Have not heard of the ruler.. does the comment about bias mean that with the ruler you do not have bias edges to sew?
I hope that you all check out the link to see what this ruler can do because I always end up changing things to suit, well almost always. Anyway this ruler is no exception I needed it to be in between the one given( one ruler is for 10" & one is for 5") I needed 8.5 sew I had to make my own ruler to match that size. I can already see my next quilt with this ruler! Hugs Loralye
Oh & I have discovered that Ava has a TODDLER SIZE BED sew this quilt is just the right size
Way to go i like it as it is cheeful .Its bright and alive great job hugs
Love your colors. This came out so pretty. great job :)
You have peaked my interest. I have not seen this ruler yet. Do you sew 4 patches and then cut them apart with the ruler? Where did you find the ruler? Thanks for sharing, Susan
well My friend showed me a picture of her quilt that she made & I thought it was awesome sew I bought the ruler but I changed the size of mine. I hope that you check out the link because it is too hard to explain, Thanks Susan, Hugs Loralye
How unusual, you have donea fantastic job, I love the colours .
Hugs pam.
I love quilts that use up the crumbs!! You did a great job here. I may have a look at some of the various rulers. I have a straight edge and do all of my quilts that way. Maybe a specialty ruler would speed up the process. Thank you for the demo!
A friend of mine showed me hers yesterday & I just fell for it & had to try it for myself. It really is easy & if you are a beginner or an expereinced quilter it is great for all! I encourage you to give it a try. There is a fair bit of waste but I will use my waste for something more maybe a pillow.Hugs Loralye
Why do you say there is a fair bit of waste? don't you use the entire 5 or 10 inch square? It looks like you cut the square twister it and sew it back together. I don't understand. Susan
well you use the ruler to move around the pcs that you make & then cut them out & sew them together again I hope that you checked out the link because I'm sure that I am not explaining it very well!
Is this the tool?
Oh I'm a little newbie so to me it looks complicated LOL I think it would take me a long time. But I sure do love yours and the colors you choose
This is really lovely. Love the colors too. Shirley
I have just joined all my pieces together and I am about to cut. My ruler is similar but it can cut pinwheels 3 different sizes.
It is very interesting to watch it go together. We have been collecting purple material in my patchwork group and some are ahead of me. Makes me realise that I need to move Love your colours
thanks I think with this one you can only cut one size but once I figured out what I was doing I just made my own ruler because I bought the one for the 10" block but that was to big for what I wanted & the other size that is sold is for a 5" & that was too small
for a 5" & that was too small, sew I just figured it out & made mine about 6.5" & the squares were 8". I look forward to seeing yours too! Hugs Loralye
This is beautiful Loralye and very effective. Love Chris
I bought this template but haven't used it. Mine is the lg one. I couldn't tell if this one is the lg or sm. Makes me want to hurry and get started on trying it. Very nice. Love the colors !!
see response to jid53 as I did change mine to suit! thanks sew much Hugs Loralye
Pretty colors. Is it kind of like a lap quilt size?
thanks Anita, well I think this one is a bit smaller maybe a lap for a kid. I chose the size I wanted it to finish, I could have made more blocks & made the quilt "grow larger"& you can actually make the pattern bigger too just by changing the size of your ruler. Hugs Loralye
wow you work at the speed of lightning.
great job and like your lively colots
hugs
Michelle
This is beautiful, I love your colourscheme
