Here are numerous options for opening a rar file. I use 7zip. I right click on the rar file, choose 7zip on the menu, (then there are options) click on extract here, and the designs come up in a folder. Delete the rar, and you choose what you want in the folder. If there is not your format, then you need to convert.

The Rose was my first emb. machine!! Loved it. I don't think any of the soft wear I have can chg. it to a format you can use. But others may have some. My 3D doesn't read it.
It isn't an embroidery format but a compressed file, like a zip file, that contains a number of embroidery files and maybe a jpg and/or a file with colour information.
