Recently, somewhere on the internet, I saw the cutest "piggy bank"! It was 2 pieces of felt in the outline of a pig and a button hole large enough for the coins! I would love to see one of our digitizing cuties come up with something like that! (Especially Lique, since I have a Bernina! haha) The site I saw them on was selling them 4 for $20!! But so cute!

How cute is that? But if you use it as a coin purse you wouldn't be able to get the money out very easily. But as a Bank it would be a great idea.

I agree this is a cute idea. Even the Scottie dog I posted a week ago could be adapted to this idea. I will have to give this idea some thought.

I think a bank you can't get into is a great way to save money!

Maybe this could be a digitizers' challenge!!!

Thanks for a darling idea. Pigs come in all shapes and sizes, so it seems that one could just improvise with an existing piggy shape, beginning with a button hole on felt. Sewterrific.com had two free 5x7 pig applique designs that might work, but I've only found one that is currently available and it's in HUS & PES. You could convert and leave off the word oink when stitching.
Cassandras site also has lots of 'shapes', so look there, too.
Love and hugs,
Jacqueline

I struggle with the concept I could not use the idea. My pencil toppers are original as are my peg cozies but the idea is not original! Lots of people have designed pegcozies and penciltoppers and as long as it does not look confusingly the same I think it is ok to make use of other people's ideas and work round it!

Meganne is correct about copying...but YOU could take the piggy shape...and put the zipper in and then stitch around. It would be very nice and maybe even more practical as a change purse. One can be inspired by a shape or color without stealing. Let your imagination soar!!!

Well I'm sorry but it won't be me as I will not steal another person's ideas. There is too much controversy over intellectual copyright.
There is nothing stopping you from making something similar for YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE, they look pretty simple to sew on an ordinary sewing machine.
Hugs n roses, Meganne

Meganne, I'm sorry you misunderstood me. I wasn't saying I would like to see someone "copy" the design. The shape could be a square or a diamond, or a duck, or any shape.
