Has anyone tried emb on blank cards? I have some designs that I think would look good and I'm ready to take the leap but have a few ???? Like how do you hoop the card?

I have one more ??? on this subject. Do you change the bobbin colors to match or just use white or black? If I get my planting done I'm going to start on this today. Thanks for info and links. *'s all around.

I have used white bobbin thread, the same color as my stabilizer. Good luck

As in greeting cards? I just posted a simple one. I hooped light weight tear away stabilizer then sprayed it with adhesive spray then stuck the card to it and embroidered my design. When finished I trimmed the stabilizer around the outside of the card for a neat smooth look. Emblibrary also has gr8 instructions on how to do them and suggestion on types of designs to use. *4U ><>

Check out the link that I am attaching, you can download a freebie and included it has an adobe file that is very helpful for paper embroidery, it will give you a step by step instruction along with pics. Hope you find it as helpful as it was to me.

I use a good card stock for my embroidered cards and use iron on,tear-away stabilizer.Iron with a warm, dry iron and put either a applique mat or some glad bake under the iron to protect the card. When you have finished, just tear the stabilizer away. You dont't have to be too particular because you will then cover the back of the embroidery with some nice paper and write your message on it.Make sure the embroidery is not too dense.I will see if I can include a photo of one of my cards.
Hope this helps.
ps. not sure how to put photos in here yet.

Mickey, each time that I have done it - I have used a heavy weight tear away - use a temporary adhesive to keep my card in place - stitch out a design or words and un hoop and cut away the tear away from the back side. Viola - it is a pretty card - good lucke with your card making. I also have good luck with stitch on fabric and using a light batting behind and then gluing the two to a card. *4U

Yes, I have. I use a jeans needle and hoop tear away stabilizer, fix the card on it with 505 (temporary glue spray). Stick a piece of paper the size of the card to the back. I want to try it with the new free pattern from Amazing, not to dense and a beautiful design for a card.
