Getting myself in a huge state. In 2 hours time we take Mushu (my pekingese) to kennels as we go away tomorrow. My stomach is in a knot and I have tears in my eyes. I am sure he knows what is happening. We will be away a month, which is a long time for my furbaby. Sarah.

make sure you leave a shirt or something you wear. It has your scent so he'll have it as a security blanket.Helps keep them calm.

what a great idea! My husband always had to put an old shirt of his in a new doghouse before our dogs would go in it.

Thank you all for your words of assurance. Mushu will be fine - I know that. Back at home now and the house feels so empty without him. Sarah.

My daughter put her beloved dog in a kennel for a long weekend, and worried the whole time she was gone. But, the dog did fine, and yours will to. Don't feel guilty--he's gonna have an adventure too. You enjoy your trip with no guilt. And have a happy reunion after.

Yes I understand that. I am gone for a weekend and leave my dog with my daughter and her 4 legged friends and I can't wait to go home. My dog is so happy to see me once I return. I had a cat for 18 years and went to Europe for 6 weeks. Friends were taking care of her. Once I returned she followed me all day mewouing constantly. By the end of the day her voice was so horse that only a croak would escape.
Sarah, Mushu is going to be taken care of and will be happy to see you again. Enjoy your trip!!!!

Thank you Angie. I will be fine by tomorrow. Just seems so strange without him. Sarah.

Sounds like she was telling about every thing that happened while you were apart.

I can relate. I volunteer to stay home so my boy can have a fun weekend, and the critters are not alone even for a day. Our dog is definelty a 24-7 dog! He puts on a show if he is alone for even an hour.

Sarah just assure yourself and Mushu that he is doing also a holiday-journey (just not so far away ;o). Keep in mind how much joy you will have at your reunion :o)
What a crazy thought that you will be soon very much closer to me than ever before *lol*
Greetings, Bettina
