Lost tooth story. Today I recieved a call from Avery's teacher, asking me if we were aware that Avery had a loose tooth. I told her I was unaware, but maybe her momma knew. Mrs.R said she just wanted to notify us, so we could watch that Avery didn't swallow it.Time was about 1:55.I thank her and we hung up. I picked Avery up, on the bus, at 2:30. The aides that were putting the kids on the bus said that Avery must have just lost her tooth, and they couldn't find it.They hoped that she hadn't swallowed it, and they weren't sure when she lost it. I told them not to worry, the dentist told my daughter that when Avery lost a tooth this may very well happen, that she could swallow it. It was dissapointing though, that the tooth fairy wouldn't be able to come for her very 1st tooth. I knew her mom would be dissapointed too. Well, when the aides got back to the classroom and told Mrs.R , she called me on my cell, and just went on and on about how it must have just happened, and she wanted Avery to have her tooth, etc.etc etc. About an hour later, Mrs R called me on my cell again. She said that she had found Avery's tooth! She ask where we were , on our bus route, and I told her. She was on her way home, by then. She was going the opposite way of us, but as we had just dropped our last child off, she offered to turn around and meet us half way. Wasn't that so nice? She was laughing and so excited that she got the tooth to us, that it got contagious. We were all laughing. She said that she left her classroom and started back-tracking to the bus loading zone. She said all along the way, different ones approached her and ask what she was looking for. She said she found it right where we load the wheelchair on the lift. What are the chances of that? Goes to show if you are determined, things can happen, and Mrs R was determined to find Avery her tooth! I took a photo (of course! haha) of how small compared to a dime. Here it is.Thank goodness for Avery's good-hearted teacher!I hope you like 'the tooth story'-Toogie ...p.s. with me there is always a p.s.,haha My daughter reminded me when she came in from work and I told her the story, that today would have been my dad's birthday. He would have been 90. I told her that I hadn't even looked at the calender, just knew it was Wednesday. How things happen

What a wonderful story. You or her mom should write it in her baby book along with the date of loosing her first tooth. Maybe even put this picture in. Be fun to look back on years from now.

Avery teacher is a God send. I worried, to have to leave her with someone we didn't know, since Avery is not able to communicate. However, we have come to know MrsR and she really cares for not only Avery but all her students.

WOW, how sweet of them to all look for it and that Mrs. R made sure that it was found and returned - now I wonder - in my day - the dime was what I got for my tooth - what will Avery get from the tooth fairy?

Mom said, Avery got the same as her brother, when he lost his. And yes, it was very sweet of Mrs R and all involved.I was told today, it was actually Mrs.Sam the teacher of the Autisum class that found it, but all were looking.

Wonderful ending to the missing tooth and great to know she didn't swallow it.

It was a good experience. I do know the dentist said that swallowing a loose tooth was highly possible, with her. Avery has a problem swallowing. She can't handle all the saliva, so that is why she has the bibs.

In her picture she looks good with the little bit of weight she has gained. Does she still have the feeding tube?

Pleased to hear that the tooth was found. Now the tooth fairy has something to exchange. Would have been hard for Avery to understand without the tooth being left for the t/fairy.

I think it would have bothered her brother more. He just couldn't believe she lost a tooth!

How wonderful that all the aids cared enough to continue to look for the tooth! Happy that she will have that memory to look back on.

Even some of the teachers were looking. I am always so surprised that so many, students, know Avery. Yes, it's all about the memories
