Have you had a look at the daily freebie from Amazing Designs today? The hedgehog is adorable. I'm trying to figure out what the appendages or ponytails on the back of the critter are for, and what the significance is of that design. Thanks.

Hedgehogs have quills on their backs much like a porcupine. To carry their food, they get it on the back and they eat mushrooms, as well as other fruits, small mammals and insects. Is is a forest animal and if you are making something with a forest theme it would fit right in along with other forest animals.

If you're interested, you can read about them.

True... but can you explain why it has two golden rings on it's back? Can't eat them..... I still think it's a ringbearer for a forest wedding.....????? :)

they're supposed to be mushrooms and the tested used those colors. you can use any color you want your mushrooms to be.

Maybe he found a nice patch of mushrooms and is taking some home to the family. Bev.

Been there had a look and I think I will pass on this one too. Very weird, would be interesting to know. My first thought was "doughnuts" (morning tea time here)after reading other replies I think the mushroom idea might be right. Who knoes????????

Had to investigate the mushrooms on the hedgehog. Hedgehogs do eat mushrooms and there is a mushroom called "hedgehog mushroom" as it's color is similar to a hedgehog. Found this recipe that is made to look like a hedgehog and mushrooms. Sort of I guess. lol

I've seen this before. Maybe it's the goal for a ring toss game....... or someone's idea of a very different ring bearer for a wedding????
At any rate .... I'm not likely to ever need this desgin so passed on it....If anyone uses it in a project I'd like to see it. :)

Your comments made me go and look. My first thought was its odd, the second oh its babies dummies and my third thought is oh its mushrooms on the spikes. maybe the hedgehog has just woken from hibernation and has rolled on---- at this point you decide
