So sorry, This is what I have always heard about Singer Futura machines. They all have tension problems. I don't know if there is a cure. Singer used to be my favorite. I learned to sew on a Singer, but now all I own are Brothers. Good Luck. Susan

To me if Singer couldn't do the Futura right when it just embroidered and straight sewing, it sure ain't gonna do the quartet right. My advise, junk it and get another brand. Been there with the Futura. Piece of junk.

My Brother machine will overfill the bobbin like yours (in the middle of a project too and makes a horrible nest under the fabric) It's always because I put the bobbin in up-side-down. I can't even tell you how many times I've done it, but enough to know that when it happens I get mad at myself for my error...yet again lol. Hope yours is this easy fix too :) xXx

Make sure to pull thread through the top tension discs with a tug at the real as you thread, could be it is not between the discs properly. that is the usual cause of nesting.
Happy stitching Bev

I have a singer future too, I was having problems with it too, was doing the same things, after doing very thing that I knew to do, I took it to the fix-it shop. He told me it was out of time, It cost me $68.00 to get it fix, by the was he told me that I was oiling way to much. and that it did not need to be oiled but very 6 months by him. He has worked on sewing machines for over 25 years, and his wife has several machines, and has an embroidery shop. And he also worked on my serger and it had not begin in the shop for over 10 years, and it runs like it's new, he told me to oil it more often. So I guess you might see about taking it in for a good going over , seeing that's it used. Did the old owner ever have it in the shop just for a check up?

You can run some UNWAXED dental floss through the thread guides to get out any fluff and make sure you have the bobbin going the right direction too. Good luck!

it could be that the bobbin case is worn and needs replacing. Had this with my second hand Brother. $102 for new bobbin case. xx

It could be your bobbin tension is too tight. Check your book to show you where the little screw is on the bobbin case is..turn it counter clock wise to loosen. Only turn about 1/4 turn at a time.

Does it have the tension dial with the E and S. If so make sure you have it on E for embroidery. Did it come with the user guide?

I noticed your are working a lot with stuffies in felt and fleece? These cause a snowfall of debri under the bobbin case so you need your sewing brush
reoil and clean clean clean till all that mess is gone. Use a flashlite or something so you can really
see. I use qtips, a little vacuum, a brush to clean up. Oil your machine per instructions.

PS I mean remove the bobbin case and clean in there. Carefully put it back in the same way so notice which way when taking out. Change needle-probably dull too and I think your problem will be solved. Also, if machine is too hot give her a rest a bit.

thank you I did go thru it it has been doing this since I bought it (maybe why they were selling it )lol I will just adjust the tension and keep watch ..I just have to redo alot ...it is using alot of thread....

bevintex by bevintex 27 Mar 2012

Just a thought but what bobbin are you using? The futuras can be finicky if you are using generic bobbins. Its needs a 15-j

bevgrift by bevgrift 28 Mar 2012

For testing tension try a part of design then check under to see if there is a problem
