It upsets me to read some of the comments made by a few Cuties when they aren't getting a freebie that they want. We should be grateful for the ones that are offered. I suspect that these are people who never download a design that isn't free. If they really want a design they should be willing to buy it. Just saying.

Try not to get upset. Live and let live I say. Sometimes we don't know the whole story. What if times are hard and they can't afford to buy designs. Remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Best Regards, Susan

A lot of times I find that we aren't getting something because of a glitch that the site owner doesn't even know about. So if a letter or design is expected and we can't get it I inform the owner politely and with a thank you.
Then there is the OCD side of me that simply likes a complete set LOL

I am grateful for freebies - they are a good way to learn about machine embroidery...but if we don't support our designers & buy when we can then there would be no freebies to get. Thankyou for freebies big time & I never whine if I miss a letter...if I want that design/letter then I buy....simple as that. Flowers to all in this post hugs & sparkles from minicow

But..why is it when someone posts having missed a letter, or lately, remarking on skipped letters, that it is immediately seen and commented on as "complaining or whining?" Why is it any different that many posts about messed up machines, or bad weather, etc.? Used to be that if you remarked on a missed letter, that others would help to try to vote it up again. Now you're just told to suck it up or leave. (See a lot of that lately) No one said they were not grateful for what has already been given, and we don't know their buying habits. If freebies were not such a big thing here at Cute, there would not be so many postings about them.

I'm with airyfairy - "I think I am missing something here". We all love getting freebies. The only thing I can think of that you are referring to is wanting it in a particular format. I'm sure some don't realise it's easy for them to just change the format to what they want.

Amen! I agree with you, freebies are nice and we love getting them but when some complain I tell them to join the site (which ever site they are complaining on) then they can download all they want. Juanita

I have to admit I put those who go on about needing a particular format into the same 'box'. Digitizers are already so generous in what they provide, some collectors really do 'push it', expecting everything dished up on a plate for them. I'm happy to buy missing letters from alphas, and enjoy making them 'complete.

Freebies are nice but I don't dl all of them because they're free. If I don't think I'll use it then I don't take it. I buy many of my designs. I've had Ricky of Ricky's Fun Things digitize a design for me too. It wasn't that expensive. Some design sets are just gotta haves so I buy them when I have the money and if not then I wait till I do. Many digitizers offer free alpha and if I miss one, then I miss one,no big deal. I appreciate those that have the talent and generosity to share their designs. It takes just as much work to make a freebie as it does one for sale and the digitizer can't give everything away or they wouldn't be in business very long. There will always be someone who complains about something. I just wish they'd keep it to themselves sometimes.

The problem with collecting free designs, is that I always see so many other lovely designs along the way that I just HAVE to buy....lol. so much fun!

What bothers me is when someone whines because they missed one letter of an alphabet. I say it is not out of line to buy one or two designs if you miss them. This site is so generous, no only Miss V but the Cutie digitizers we should never complain and ALWAYS GIVE FLOWERS. Thanks Miss V and all Cuties.

I agree,I purchased my missing 'D' from the froggie alpha... just to cute to pass up.

I also agree, if you buy a membership than you don't have to beg for the alphabet letters that you have missed.

I agree 100%. I missed a letter here and there and I have the choice to purchase it or just go w/out. I made the decision to purchase memberships to all the sister sites and love it. So worth the price. Ms. Veronika is very generous and there is no room to complain.

Sometimes I think the only way to get exactly what I'm looking for is to ask a digitiser to do one and then I know I am getting what I need. That said I am always grateful for the freebies I have been lucky enough to download and I will always say thank you for their generousity.

Having a digitizer do a design for you really isn't that expensive,if you have a idea and can't find it have it made up for you. I have sent Yoriko several of my ideas and she has drawn them up,asked if I approved, gave me a price and after agreeing on everything i was the proud owner of a new design. And it was affordable.

I agree... while I like to get freebies, sometimes if you want something, you just have to pay for it....
