Is there a rule of thumb as to where the design goes on a tee shirt up top left?

appreciate the help, thanks Diamond

I think there is a certain rule, but I always use my eye to see where it will look best. If it is a school t-shirt, they usually tell you where to put it. ***

I embroider many t shirts for my grandchildren. If it is a fairly square design I place the design about 60 cms from the neck edge. If it is a long design I place it higher to the left or right, towards the shoulder. I do not think that it really matters. Sarah.

Is 60cms a typo because 60 cms is about 24" & depending on the T shirt size the design would be on the hem or not there at all ?

I think I remember seeing a tutorial about this at Embroidery Library.

I do men's shirts a lot. It's centered about 3 inches in from the center and 7-8 inches down from where the shoulder seam meets the neck. But always use your own creative eye too because it depends on the embroidery design and overall look you want.
