Is it me or are there so much more personal comments made on cuties lately. I have noticed that in the last few months there are people taking one side or the other, there are statements made that hurt other people's feelings. Can we please go back to embroidery and crafts!

I've taken to not coming a lot because of this very problem. Please, can we keep it on embroidery, sewing, crafting, whatever, and keep all the jokes, babies, prayer requests, etc. in Personal? That's why Veronika gave us the Personal tab in the first place, the Public Community was designed to be of help to others with embroidery & craft related posts. It would make life easier when you don't have a lot of time, but still want to see if you can be of help with a question someone has. And sniping and hurtful comments have no place anywhere. There are people here from all over the world, literally, whose first language is not necessarily American English. Maybe we could give all Cuties a break, give the benefit of the doubt instead of getting knickers in a twist, and let your fingers take a walk around some nice fabric or designs to cool off before firing off comments that may be hurtful or misunderstood. Life's hard enough, embroidery shouldn't have to be. There are days when my life is too hard to listen to any more pain, I just want to help somebody with a design problem. And those seem to be getting kind of lost again. Could we keep it simple, please? I want to come here to relax, not get my nerves jangled. I really do care for all of you, and miss you when I'm not here. I love keeping up with your happenings in Personal, and I do whenever I'm here. Spring's coming, maybe the Seasonal Affective Disorder will let up a bit? Hugs, Marji

Amen...I so agree that personal comments (as you stated above) should all be relagated to the Personal Tab...It sure would be a lot easier to focus on embroidery issues, questions, etc....

I agree! I've noticed some people are very defensive without gathering all the information. Some comments have been mean. I think this is a good idea or at least if someone has something to say...make the critism constructive.

Lique, thanks for your comments and to all others for their comments too. As I put below there are many with limited time here and it can take a age to work through postings that are have no embroidery/craft element in at all. When I have time I do read the Personal section

Tis the time of year in many parts of the world where Seasonal Affective Disorder hits. This disorder is due to a lack of sunshine, vitamin D levels get lower. It is a form of depression that usually goes away with more sunshine. My sister sits under a sunlamp which also helps. Another thing about worldwide is words have different meaning even in different parts of a country. Hopefully most will consider this and cut Cuties a little slack. Final say on this site belongs to the owner.

It would be great if everyone used the community section for "on-topic" posts and the rest went in personal or private. Some questions are being left unanswered for too long because the forum is swamped at the moment.

Swamped is a great word Sue. As someone who has limited time here it can often take far longer than I have wading through posts that have nothing to do with embroidery

Ditto!!!

It seems that there have been a couple tough days, and a few words at the time not the best. I do not think we hurt each other intentionally and I believe the day will come when there really is Peace on Earth. This morning has been with tears on Cute as we support our friends through difficult times. Please remember that we are only human.

Let's all be positive in our minds and love one another whilst sharing our daily embroidery and sewing stuff. Lovies.****

I saw some prime examples of what you are referring to last night and was taken aback with the bold back stabbing I agree with you. That belongs in private messaging if at all!!

Agree also, I have seen some comments lately that are just not necessary. If you have a problem address it in the Private messages or at least personal.

I have enough problems with my sewing and embroidery to be involved with other problems.

As in most large families, someone says something once in a while that hurts, the rest of the family rallies for the wounded one and soon there is healing. Personals is for personals and that's where personal opinions should be, be they good or bad. this has always been a wonderful site so lets keep it that way and not cause hurt feelings please. We are all in one accord when it comes to our crafts sewing and embroidery and a myriad of other things that give us pleasure. That is what Cute is all about. /Lillian

Hi Cuties, I joined this group because of the diversity. I don't want a site that everyone is the same. Diversitey nurtures creativity but harsh comments nurture conflict. Lets keep our judgements to ourselves and share our creativity with all of our sisters. I love you all and we are one in his eyes.

Please post all those "jokes" and statements in PERSONAL.
For the peace of this community I think we should use the rules for "smalltalk": No politics and no religion so nobody will be offended.
We have members from so many different countries all over the world peaceful together here and that means also many points of view which is wonderful and we should try to keep this :o)

Yes me too I thought that was what we had the personals tab for. we get soooo much help here with our embroidery and craft problems its such a shame to read all the other stuff. sometimes the written words can be misunderstood simply because we read them rather than hear them and so we dont hear compassion or caring in the reading like we would if they were spoken out loud. sorry for the rambling hope I haven't confused the situation more. best wishes sue
