My first FSL bowl. Now what do you all do with these things? I could never sell them in my area at the market and make anything on them. They take LOTS of time and thread. I'm not the type of person to have a bunch of lacy frilly things around the house, I'm more of the country type gal...lol

Your stitchout looks beautiful. You are right in saying a lot of thread and time goes in to stitching a lace bowl. There are great for wedding tables filled with favours. One of my wee girls asked for a pink lace bowl filled with butterflies. Personally I do not have lace bowls around as I dont use them either, but I love to design and stitch them. hugs Helen

I have yet to make one, but if I was going to do it, it would be as a gift for someone that's VERY special to me. But, I'm a country girl, too, and I do have some frilly stuff around. Not a whole lot, but enough so that my gender isn't neutralized. LOL

It looks lovely, I have thought about doing something similar but wouldn't know what to do with it once finished but give yourself and pat on the back, it is a great achievement.

It is beautiful, I also made my first bowl a little while back and too doesn't know what to do with it, I also don't like frills and ornaments and stuff standing around but on the mean time it holds my bobbins lol Hugs Louise ps. it still is fun creating it though

It's beautiful! If you don't want to keep it in your house you can always give it as a present to someone who will love it. Hugs, Lidia

I love making bowls but like you I am not sure you would use them for. I sell a few Owl bowls to those who collect Owls. Well done for your first bowl.

Your first FSL Bowl turned out great!
It is a very pretty design!
Would make a lovely gift filled with just about anything! LOL
Perhaps fill it with a embroidered Hand towel, face cloth and bath soaps as a gift.
Chocolates are always a great filler!

Could you tell us where you got the FSL Bowl design from?

If you join secret santa or do swaps, anyone would love this beautiful bowl....

Not everyone, look at how many say they do not like these bowls for themselves. If I got it in a SS swap I would have to regift it because I would never use it.

Too bad; or maybe not...Maybe I'll put my name on the list;then everyone can send the ones they don't want to me,lol.

I prefer something I can put in the diswasher. That's why I don't make them, I would not know who to give it to and don't like frilly things myself. But it IS a lovely bowl.

I like lacy frilly things but was never sure what to put in one of these lace bowls so haven't made one. Dried Flower and Herbal Sachets/Potpourri does come to mind after the chocolates are gone.

It is very pretty and you did a great job. But this is the reason that I haven't made a bowl. What would I do with it? My friends aren't the frilly types either.

It is a really pretty one. You did a great job of it. Where is it from, do you remember? I'm not much into lace or home decorating either. I think the fabric bowls would be more 'me', if I could get around to trying one.

I guess you could gift it to someone who does like
lacy frilly things. My mom does and she's from the North so I'm sure someone you know will love it.
