yes lots of snow here n Salisbury Plain overnight Sat/Sun. Raining and foggy now!!!! Yuk!!!! Rather have the snow!
Have you tried Franklyns of Colchester for Mylar. They are sewing specialists and that is their head office.
Also have you tried using a deflated ballon.. the shiny sort you get in card shops, or the wrappers from sweets...Roses and Quality Street.

This is the infoprmation of the Heirlooms by Sharon Website for the women in the UK that sells Mylar.
Her name is Lucy Henderson and you can reach her by email: Lucyhenderson53@yahoo.com

You can see the Mylar she has available at the link below. If you click on each picture on the link page of the different Mylars it will give you the prices.
Most Embroiders use the Opal Mylar.
Hope this helps you.

Absolutely NO SNOW 20 miles west of Aberdeen in NE Scotland - makes a change!! I bought Mylar from Sainsburys the supermarket. In the gift wrap section. 'Pack of 3 sheets of luxury tissue 500x700mm aprox' £1.25. They only have the opal not any of the coloured variety

Here in Michigan, just North of Ohio. Today, the sun is shining and the temps are in the 40's. Great weather...especially, for January. We are having an unusual winter. Where I live the ave. snow total should be about 49". Michigan has some areas that have gotten some of the white stuff but around here, very little. I'm not complaining, with my job I do alot of driving and I hate driving in the slippery, icy, snow....yuck! I'm thinking we will pay for this some way....? I use balloons for Mylar.

Beautiful sunny day here in Ohio, USA but chilly. I read somewhere and maybe it was here that someone used a Mylar balloon inside out. If you have those there maybe you could try it. Good luck in your search. Blessings
