This comment is not an answer for ssaner It's not an issue for me what has been said. I feel everyone seems to be reading this wrong.. Never mind what is said it is one of our sisters here who is communicating the best way she can and it is not for us to condem or feel offended by.

I have no clue what all this is about. I didn't realize it was an issue for any of us what sex we were other than curiosity. I thought our avatars were a choice on our part of things we were interested in or liked. I think I'll just stay happy with all here and pass on flowers to everyone.... No matter the sex, occupation, avatar.... In the end does it really matter? *'s 4 all.

I love you all no matter if you have a face animal flower and i can see ssarner where your coming from what i mean is what you are saying. If we all had that DNA test i am sure we will have the same mysterious gene that gives us SADD. And that we are all related in Spirit. love you and love to all....

I too do not have a face photo, can't seem to find one that I like, but agree with all it is not what we see but what we are and this sure is the best site to have a chat with great friends who have the same interests

Well girls... I think you covered it all. As for me this is the best site I have come across with good clean chat. As for my pic. nothing is more precious than a child in prayer. It came from an old "Sunbeam Bakers" tin. As for my real photo, I am always the one behind the camera. :-) As far as my name, its part of my name and it seems that others have it also. I just thought it was unique but have since found out different. But it can't be changed on this site. so.... Blessing to all and to all a good night. :-)

If I have taught my kids one thing that I hope sticks with them throughout their lives... it is what we appear to be on the outside is meaningless unless what we are on the 'inside' is beautiful... I usually keep a bird in my avatar because I do wild bird rescue. It is usually the image of a very plain bird, usually one not admired by most people like blackbirds or Sparrows, because the little birds I often save are plain... not fancy colorful birds. I think this choice of Avatar speaks volumes about me... more than a photo of my face. I may not be beautiful but my place on this earth is as important as anyone else's... What I really look like makes no difference as to who I am in the 'big picture'... and if it does to others it just shows their failings... not mine. Be a good person and all will see that no matter what your Avatar or your real face shows you to be... we love ya just the same in here!
Have a flower and a cyber-hug...smile and be happy!

I don't get the question. I work in engineering too ssarner, but what does that have to do with anything??? You need to clarify your question.

I am every bit in every way female. Right from looks to sensitivity. I have not taken any offence if someone thinks otherwise. I have however used my real name, Joanie. I just love to ride a motorbike like bikermomfl. In Canada anyhow, there are more and more female bikers each year.

Please ladies, Life is too short to spend time on this sort of triviality. We are alive, we have food, clothing, shelter, embroidery machines, computers, TV's, motor cars, the internet and most modern appliances we could wish for, we mostly are healthy amd have families who love us. There are others in this world who have nothing, they live wherever they can find shelter, they get their food from garbage cans, their clothes are rags, they cannot read or write, have no running water or electricity, they are riddled with disease and most of them will be lucky to survive to see their 10th birthday. These are the big issues in life! Surviving & quality of life! Ask them what is important and what is worth worrying about then please rise above this pettiness.
Why should anyone care whether someone who doesn't even know you thinks you are male or female? Very few people here even use their real names and sometimes you may not even recognise a name is real because we are from all over the world and names are different everywhere. I like to think we are all Mates, which in Australia is not meant as male/female mating but is a 'Friend', a good friend who will stand by you through good times and bad and to me it is not important whether you are male or female so long as you are a 'mate' and we can stretch out our hands in friendship, that is all that is important here. Hugs and roses to you all, i'm off to bed, good night from downunder, Meganne

Very well said mate.

clawton by clawton 09 May 2008

I like the term Mate! I have wondered in the past about me using the term ladies. But I'm sure if there are any males on the site they will understand.

I don't think the avatar should be something that upsets people. I used the default picture for a long time. I didn't want to use my real picture because of everything people say about the internet. And besides I don't want to scare you people. I came across the picture of the yellow roses which have special meaning to me so that's what I decided to use. WE LIKE YOU NO MATTER WHAT FORM YOU USE!!!

May be because I work at engineering environment which has more male than female. My wording must give people impression that I was male than female. On top of that, I am asian with that the name that cann't tell whether is female or male. Hmmmmmmmm?

Please don't be upset, I am sure this was just a misunderstanding and no one meant to hurt your feelings. You certainly are as welcome as everyone else. If you don't want to post a photo, that is just a personal preference. You don't have to prove anything here. All are equal.;)

I am not upset. For me a picture of motocycle give me a clue that is more of male than female. I can see the flower is more toward female. For me, I have default picture which means I am a FEMALE. I enjoy so much of this site until the photo thingy. Oh well.
