I made Pj's and the toys will be made with the same fabric, I think they should be surprised!

Most of the chain fabric stores( Joannes, Hancock,etc) have them and they are usually with the buttons. these are the sew on kind so take a good bit of "jiggling" and still stay on.

All the ideas for eyes from the other cuties and there are eye buttons also available. If your girls are little and still put stuff in their mouths I would stitch the eyes on.

Well not so little my girls but still will amaze you on the silly things they come up with! Safe better than sorry is the moto here!
