It's like working a little magic, isn't it!
It's so awesome I could'nt wait to get up this morning and try one more
Louise,
I see you have your answer but I just wanted to welcome you to Cute!
I use luke warm water. Then press with a towel and lay on another dry towel until dry.
Hi Louise,
I use luke warm water and lay the design on something solid to dry. I once put a design on a towel and it was stuck to it when it dried. Pulled towel threads off on the design. Had to redo the rinse to get all the towel residue off. I learn everything the hard way.

I've used hot and cold water both. Hot is faster to dissolve the WSS, but may cause your piece to shrink.

I use tepid water as I found a couple of my designs seem to shrink in hot water. I found a square of mesh at the reject shop here in Australia and use it to rinse and then dry my lace on. That way I am not handling it till it is dry. For any Aussie cuties, the square of mesh is actually a mesh that you can bake and use in the oven, from the reject shop, about $10.00, I have 2, but well worth it. hugs Helen
i see you have your answers justg be warned lace is addictive and great fun ....soozie. nsw australia
There are not stupid questions in this site, we all learn from Q A I use warm water.
Hi Louise, I use tepid water in an overnight bath. I then resoak for 20 minutes in clean water to get all of the vilene out. If you do many, make sure they are separated. The cooler water helps prevent shrinking, becuase I use cotton thread. christine
Thanks Christine is'nt an embroidery machine the best invention ever LOL
Hi Louise, I always use pretty warm water. I hold the design in my fingers and let the very warm water, about as hot as my fingers can handle, flow gently over it, still almost all of the sticky is gone. If you want your design to be stiff, be sure to leave some sticky in. I then carefully lay out my lace on a paper towel or a white clean washcloth. Just make sure all of the stabilizer has dissolved. It's a really fun step. Wait until it is all dry to snip the little bits of thread that will show up. Have fun! Jan, in snowy Colorado
Oh, and remember, there are NO stupid questions here on Cuties - we are all learners and teachers :-)
