When embroidering the candy cane holders (thank you to all the digitisers) are you all stitching on WSS on top of the felt? Do you feel this is necessary?

Didn't use the WSS on the ones I did last year either and they were all great...

I am making these holders now and I made them last year without anything on top and they turned out just fine

I stitched a lot of these candy cane holders last year and did not use WSS on top. They all turned out great.
