Has anyone made a lined bag/pouch ITH, in such a way that the lining seams are also finished off neatly inside? If so, can you please explain the order of the layers? I am doing something wrong, and my old brain just isn't getting it right now. Thanks so much.

This hoes how step by step. Hopefully it will show up when you click the link. If not copy and paste the last part of the address and put it in the search bar, starting with tc to the end.

I have a number of Husqvarna designs called "Pretty Purses in the Hoop", they are fully lined, but you have to do the last seams with a sewing machine. I made a couple last week, one with a zipper, one with a flap. The stitching order was different for the two. The easiest is the one with a flap, you stitch all but the last colour, put the lining on top, wrong side up, then stitch the last colour, which stitch the flap and the short side, leaving the long side seams open. Then you cut the purse out with a 1/4"seam. Now you have to pin the sides of the outside material folding it wrong sides together and do the same for the lining. Stitch 3 seams, in the fourth (one of the seams of the lining) you leave an opening to turn the thing right side out. Close the opening by hand. Sounds far more complicated then it really is.

Thanks for the info. I watched a demonstration for this about 5 or 6 yrs ago, and thought of course I would remember the "how-to" steps because she made it look so easy. I'll try your instructions. I thought she completed the entire project ITH. But I agree with you, I think you must have to leave an opening to allow turning right side out, and then finish the seam out of the hoop. At least, I can't figure out any other way to do it. Thanks so much.

Have you asked the digitizer? Sometimes their directions are not too clear.

Or. let us know who it's from, and if we have done one of theirs, it would be easier to talk you through it.

The way I always finished mine was to line it with a contrasting fabric. You will need to make another bag and put the 2 bags together and then add your bias or trim around the top. I even put pockets in mine to hold coupons, calculator and stuff.

Thanks for the info. But this bag is made completely in the hoop, and has a zipper, or you can make it with a flap.
