If I use red, black and green on a white towel, will the color run? How do I choose the stabeliser? Do I hoop the towel?

I'm sorry but I hate spray glue stuff. No matter how much I use, it gums up my needle. So I just use straight pins to stick things together. Been doing it for several years. Being careful not to get a pin in the sewing field. And removing them as I go. Just works best for me.

If you happen to use rayon instead of poly, be sure & do not bleach! We have a very strange colored frog on one of my grandkid's towels!

I use sulky sticky stablizer and poly thread and I never have a problem. Can't wait to see the finished project!

You got your answer. Hoop WSS stabilizer, spray a bit of glue onto WSS stabilizer, position your towel for the embroidery and then place another piece of WSS stabilizer on top. When done spray the stabilizer (I just through mine in the washing machine on rinse) then you iron a little and PRESTO, ALL DONE.
Good Luck,
Michelle

Do not hoop the towel as it could stretch out your hoop and ruin it. And use poly thread instead of rayon as it can be bleached without losing color. HTH. Nan W
