I am a newbie and would love to hear some feedback on the Embird software? Anything would be great, especially information on learning curves and technical support?

Embird is great. Have a look at Secrets of Embroidery - they have it at a discounted price, and you can get bonus designs too. :) Win win all round :)

I envy all of you that have learned to use Embird. I think I am the only one that doesn't like it. I don't devote enough time to it though and when I try again I have mostly forgotten what I learned before. I have other software that I love so I may just have a mental block when it comes to another software. For me there are too many screens, program modules, etc. Just when I think I have something created I haven't, must then generate stitches. I prefer my one screen that does everything with one button and stitches are automatically created.

So far I have only used Embird for changing formats to PES for my home machines. I know it is such a waste.

I think if I had started out with Embird it would have been so much better. So many 'Cuties' love the program so I know it must be a good one. I feel very left out.

Welcome to Cuties!!!! You will love this site. I have Embird for more Than 5 years and I love it, I have basic, Iconizer and Studio, I have not "play" too much with Studio, only simple shapes, but I have used Basic a lot, split designs, enlarge or minimize them, change colors, The price is reasonable and there are many yahoo groups Tutorials, you have 30 days full trial so could make your right decision. Welcome!!!!

Welcome to Cute Embroidery.

Listen to the experienced digitisers here and see what they produce.

Pricing, upgrades and on-going support are what you need to consider and compare with other programs.

I have heard so much positive feedback about Embird that I want to download the trial next year when I'll have a whole month to experiment and then probably buy the modules.
It will be interesting comparing it with my very expensive 3D Suite which has now been superseded by the 4D and 5D programs and is no longer supported by any updates or upgrades - and 4D costs about $1400 to upgrade to 5D now.

I'm with sewdoctor! I have Basic Embird and Iconizer. Started with free trial, couldn't give back. Price is reasonable, upgrades are usually free and you can add the other modules as you learn more and need them. I would add Studio and Font and Cross Stitch, but also have Janome ProMB3 and Palette 9...but my go to for editing is Embird! Lots of support available expecially here at Cute!

I have Embird Basic, Studio and Font Engine. I have so much to learn, but I love the program. I like being able to digitize a few basic designs for myslf. Best thing I ever did was invest in the program.

Everyone on this board has been very helpful to me. Thank you all for being so helpful.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Embird...it is the best priced, easiest to use software on the web. You can buy it all or just the modules you want, and add on later. Basic is the first you should buy. Then I love Font Engine....The cross stitch module is great. I don't have Studio yet, but I will....you won't find a better deal anywhere, and it does everything you would want it to.

I only have the Embird basic and its Iconizer program to help me with my machine embroidery craft, but I LOVE the many features this alone has. One can purchase other plug-ins, as needed or desired. Should I ever decide to learn to digitize, I will buy the Studio plug-in. It is a great software for the cost. The Iconizer allows me to view the designs I have downloaded in full color with pertinent info, rather than just seeing the format icons. Love my Embird! Check out www.embird.com. to learn all about the software. There are tutorials available from several sites to help you learn.

I use Embird Basic, Studio and FontEngine. I also have other software, very expensive, but I prefer the ease of Embird. Having used embroidery software for 17 years before buying Embird I was used to the process and there was not much of a learning curve. But I think Embird is easy to use for beginners as well.

Hi mjjust, Happy you found us...this is a wonderful, talented family group. I have different software...however, if I purchase another it will be Embird. Have been told by some of the best digitizers it is great software and one of the easier to use. H&*

Where do I need to go to download for free?

sewdoctor by sewdoctor 20 Oct 2011

This is another great aspect of the program, the free trial.. It is smart of them, cause you won't want to live without it after a month!
