I recently upgraded my machine and finally got the courage to put my beloved Husqvarna Designer1 on Ebay, I was rather attached to it, I am sure you ladies understand the attachment we get to our machines......... rather stupid really after all it's just a machine! I will be sorry to see it go.

Thanks ladies now I know that I am not so weird after all! I probably came to the conclusion you could only use one at a time and I have already two overlockers, an older Janome sewing machine for the jobs you don't want to do on the good machines, the new Ruby embroidery/sewing. I don't wanna die with the most machines, just the most embroidery designs! Hopefully it will go to a good home! A flower for everyone.

Do you HAVE to sell it? If not, then you could keep it in case of a new machine breakdown. Then, when it gets annoying and in the way, you will be ready to sell it. I'm so glad I didn't trade in my sewing machine when I bought my embroidery machine. My embroidery machine spent half of its life in the shop before it was finally replaced with a better working model. Just a thought....

Last year when I purchased my embroidery machine they supposedly were offering a trade in price for 19 year old Kenmore machine. I kept it and now my daughter is using to learn to sew. It was not worth anything monetarily but a great machine . Never had to be repaired.

Yes it is difficult to leave a machine with which we have years together. I have bought a new machine at the beggining of the year, a Husqvarna Ruby, I was too much attached to my Designer1for selling it. I have given it to my grand daughter, she is 26 year old, and she loves to do quilts, and the machine is not far of me.

Good Morning, Good luck with the sale of your machine.
Is it expensive to ship a sewing machine because of the weight? I thought of selling one of my regular sewing machines that I no longer use, but it is hard to part with it,

Generally it's a pickup or the buyer arranges for a pickup with a local delivery.

Yes, it is difficult to let go of your "baby" (machine) that you have treated with such loving care, but it is how so many that cannot afford to buy "new" get to experience the thrills we have had in creativity! It will make you feel better to know it is "adopted" by another caring person! Just
think of the joy you are giving to someone else!!

I sold my Rose on Ebay and what I liked was that the lady was thrilled to bits with it. Quite a lot of bidding too. Know several other persons wanted it desperately as well, but there could only be one winner. I hope you have the same interest and believe me if the person who buys it is over the moon it gives you a great feeling knowing your baby has gone to a good home and will be appreciated. Good luck edith

I have others to thank for my embroidery machines but I am keeping my first one as it was a gift and I feel it is not right to sell. I gave my mothers sewing machine to my younger daughter so its still in the family. We do get attatched to our machines, lets face it we do spend a lot of time with them...

I like all that was said. I know my daughter would have a fit if I sold my little brother, and I think I would want to retain that capability. If I had to part with it and it was in really good condition I would want it to go to someone I know so that I could keep tabs on all the cool projects it makes! silly really! christine Live Laugh Download Stitch!

I understand - I have my Mother's Husqvara Designer I and I am not sure that I could do that - even though I do need the money for things now. Good luck.

Thank goodness there are people who do sell their old machines. That is how I got mine. I just love my machine to bits and I am sure that all the Cuties feel the same way about their machines. They work so hard for us. Sarah.

It's not just a machine. It's almost like a baby. I just got a 3rd machine off ebay but haven't decided what to do with the other two yet. Good luck selling it... if that's what you really want!! Lyn. xx

I have heard than many people keep their other machines so they can complete more projects, i.e., they do multiple tasks at the same time on their various machines. Do you think you should keep it?
