Has anyone tried biding for embroidery thread on Ebay? From the UK to be shipped to the US or Canada?? If so what was your experiences? I'm thinking of trying Ebay but I'm a little intimidated... Lucy

I have ordered several times from a person on Ebay. Their name is sewingthreadsrus. We have used their thread on my embroidery machine and also on our long arm machines. It works well on both. If you are ok using the large spools, the price is hard to beat. They really work with you on the shipping costs too.

I am just wondering why you would want to buy from the UK if you dont live here. I dont buy from the USA because I have to pay import duty which would work in the reverse. I do buy thread on ebay and have had some great buys. There are suggestions of buying Metro. I know a (UK) cutie who got some and said it was great and another friend bought SICK thread and paid loads of post and import. Let us know what you get and from where

I have good experience of buying from EBAY - UK(but not bought thread), however I am a bit amazed that you want to ship to the USA as I am always jealous of you all over there lol as all things are sooo much cheaper.
I would ask cuties from the USA where they buy first and compare.
Good look edith

Use google for a search of suppliers and their costs. Here is the main one I started from, and threadart looks to be not a bad price.
Why do you want rayon? I started with that, and now mainly use poly. The gloss is there, and I like the colorfast factor. I am using up my rayon on FSL, which will not get a lot of abuse.

I was directed by one of the Cuties to use Rayon on a Rayon, Nylon, Spandex blend jacket I found and wanted to add some embroidery to. I guess the Metro would work too. I thought if the price was right I would get some Rayon to give it a go.
Thanks for the links!

Hi Lucy,
When I first started I purchased a bunch of sulky thread on E-Bay. Have to question the quality of what I received, wondered if some of the bobbins were not old
even though they were still wrapped. If you are in Canada, I could suggest Superpunch.com they have good thread at very reasonable prices. I do not know how they compare to Metro though. I guess I would say I am not sure I would order from E-bAY again, Good Luck

I've bought some incredibly cheap rayon threads from Ebay but only had them shipped here in UK. Aren't they available on your side of the pond?
