Started with a Brother ULT 2001 many years ago. In 2007 bought an AmayaXT with 16 needles and automatic thread feed so no tension adjustments are required. After researching about a year the Amaya was by far my favorite and I love it. I was so tired of changing thread and the slow speed of my Brother. It is so nice to be able to embroider small clothes for my grandsons now with the Amaya. I have some tremendous hoops too for wall hangings.
Interesting answers. Looks like Brother and Babylock are ahead.

I adore my Viking Diamond! I don't think I would upgrade to the new Deluxe, not enough features to make it worth the $$. I am really in love with the huge hoop (extra purchase) I have done wall hangings (Ten Commandments in Hebrew for a Jewish friend on her Bat Mitzvah at age of 78) and backs of jackets..use 5x7 and 11x18 most often. Not a fan of 4x4 when I can go bigger! Love the touch screen, allows editing on the spot, and can disengage the "cut jump thread" feature when doing designs with many color changes so back doesn't have knots...love all the things about it except....my dealer has gone out of business and I will have to drive 2 hours for service! Shop for dealer, all machines are good...Linda
I have just traded in a 4000D for a Innovis1. I haven't tried it all yet. Very pleased so far, where is it going? This might be my last upgrade.
I have two emb. machines. The old one is a White (made by brother and discontinued) is only a 4x4, but it sews well enough... kind of noisy.
I have a Brother 780D mostly because I don't want a combination machine. I'm embroidering many times while I'm sewing on my Viking.
The 780D hoop 4x4 and 5x7 does snap in but it is really easy, automatic threader, that I don't use just because it is so easy to thread manually, automatic thread cutter.
I would love to have a bigger machine and hoop but would only use it for embroidery and I can't see paying the price when I have a great Vikine regular machine.
It seems to me that you are looking for a much bigger machine than mine..... so good luck.... but I have read on here so much good about the Brother machines....

I think we all love the machines we have!!! I have a Brother Innovis 1500D and it is wonderful. It is a workhorse!! But, I dream of owning a Babylock Ellisimo. However, to buy one is like paying for a car and right now we really need a new car more than I need a new expensive embroidery machine - lol. May if I win the lotto!!*
I have a brother 4800 I think it is as I have never embroidered with it, but sewed with it.....a little complicated.....
I have a Janome 11000SE and will not trade up to the 12000 until I know all the bugs are out of it....
Loads from the back..put in slot and lock, great and easy.
Love the features...edit screen, twist, turn, rotate, all kinds of things and have used most of them to get creative designs from 4x4's and using them 4 times in my hoop to create a different design.....
I have a Bernina Artista 730e and love it. My only complaint is that there seem to be less ART files available.
If you get Wilcom you can change many embroidery formats to a different format. Check if you can change to ART format.

Cannot change TO art, only FRON art to other formats, and not all software will let you do that...Bernina is very protective of their designs! I can download art and change a selection of folders to vp3 with buzz tools, and I can use Wilcom to change them 1 folder at a time. I have not heard of a program that will let you convert to art, and some art60 and the like I can't even see on my programs. Linda
I started with a Brother 780D - loved machine embroidery so much I bought the Quattro 6000D in January. Same as you, love the way the hoop attaches (so much easier than the 780D - especially with my bad hands), love the treading mechanisim (they call it "never-miss" and they are right), love the automatic jump-stitch cutting, and love the snowman for placement (even though you have to use a 5x7 or bigger hoop).
Getting ready to do a craft fair soon - gotta get out the 780D so I can have both machines going at the same time - and it sounds like I am not the only one who would do that!
I have an Elna CE10, really nice home machine with two frames, self threading and no pedal. Easy to work with BUT I would like one with a frame larger than 5x7 BUT that is just a dream :)
I have the Brother Innovis 4500D. The only thing I can compare it to is a very bad version of the same machine when I first purchased it. I got a bonified lemon. But after talking to the owner of the store, he swapped it for a working machine, and now I LOVE it. My favorite feature is that it does not require a foot pedal. Sewing is my little escape from life, but I was getting concerned about being able to use a sewing machine due to a back injury that has left me with limited feeling in my lower extremities. That was a big worry for me. This has solved that problem. I considered getting an embroidery-only machine when I purchased, but ultimately decided on something that was multi-function. It is also nice to be able to use USB instead of floppy drives or cards.
I have a brother pr620 (6 needle)and a brother pr1000 (10 needle), I love them because I am to lazy to keep changing the thread so they are perfect for me. The pr1000 has some of the features of the quatro.
I have Brother machines. 180D, 500D, 750D amd 2003D. Bought the 2003D first and the 500D came free with it. Then I got the 180D just because LOL Last one I bought was the 750D, Love them all. My daughter is using the 500D and grand daughter uses the 180D. I use the other 2. Sometimes have both 2003D and 750D working at the same time. Last year I got an order for 100 Santa hats with names on them for our local McDonalds to give all employees. that was quite a job but with 2 running at once it was done in no time. I have hoops from the pocket hoop to the biggest that fits the 2003D that takes floppy discs. The others take the memory card but the 750D can also be hooked right to the computer to download if I want. Been embroidering since 2001 os have had a lot of time to get my machines. I am an addict. LOL
2).... :} ..... I 'like my embroidery machine so much more than any other' because it's the only one I have.....
1).... :} ..... I have a Husqvarna Viking Designer II sewing/quilting/embroidery machine. It's called the Big Fella. I love it!!!!
I've never used another embroidery machine so I can't compare it in any way with other brands. This one is a real workhorse, most reliable and spoils me rotten. It does everything for me - has sensor control from foot pedal, needle down, or up, leaving hands free to hold fabric; automatic stitch-lock beginning and end; automatic thread cut off; brilliant, very easy needle threader; handles the finest to the thickest and heaviest fabrics with ease; just simply whizzes through patchwork and quilting; loves Organ needles and most threads (it doesn't like QA threads); once I learnt how to drive it there's never been a moment's worry. Embroidery is all done by button-control. Attaching the hoop is a breeze - slides into place and locks securely - and I have complete and accurate control of design placement. I believe it's a bit of a dinosaur these days - no onscreen design picture, only a d-card with numbers, so I have a little laptop next to it showing the design in the 3D program where I can enlarge and watch particular areas while stitching.

lehewj1, this has been discussed over and over again - but we all love the machine that we have - don't we?
I own a Babylock Ellegante2 - actually I have two of them - I have also owned a Babylock Ellure - that I traded in when I upgraded to my 1st Ellegante2. I love all the features, the easy auto-threading and cliping; the user friendly screens that allow you to edit and save your projects; the ease of use of the USB, card or PC attachments; the hoops that are the tiny one for little things, 4x4, 5x7 and 7x11.75 and so many other things that I just can't remember right now - I would like to upgrade to the Ellissimo, but that is only in my dreams.
I also have my Mother's Husqvarna Designer I, which is a very nice stitching machine and has some great hoops and features to it, as well.
I also have Brother machines. The first machine is a Galaxie 3000 and I have had it a number of years. The hoops also slide one, but there are other Brother machines like the 150 and 180 that are the simplest embroidery machines by Brother and the frames are snapped/clipped into place. I am just trying to think how the hoops/frames fit the 2000 Galaxie. My second machine is a PR650 and I slide the hoops onto that too. Happy sewing
Yes.. it is a great machine.. I have one also.. but also the quattro and that is a wonderful one also..
In my dreams I would love to have a Quattro but they are so expensive... checked with dealer just recently and they are still over $6500. Even though the new one Quattro 2 is coming out... saw it demonstrated and loved all of the features....
