Can someone point me in right direction: I need a free program to open .rar files. I remember reading the posts here not long time ago, but did not need it then. I had a free program in my old computer to open the files, that my son helped me to install. Now, with new computer and new OS for me - Windows 7, it doesn't happen automatically. I need your input, please, which program do you like and prefer using for opening .rar files? Thanks in advance for your answers. Anna

I use Free RAR extract frog-google it.I installed it years ago & it automatically unzips all the rar files & I delete the ones I don't want & the original still has all the files zipped . I keep all the zipped files incase of a meltdown or a change of machine

I use ExtractNow which is a free program. I works fast and I can unzip or expand many files at the same time. You can just drag your files onto the little window and it expands them. You have a choice if you want them in an individual folder. I keep a shortcut to it in my bottom bar. However, I still have Windows xp so I am not certain how it works with Win 7 but I would imagine if you google it, it would say if it does.
