Meganne led me through the shipping bit and I have just put my order in for 2 yards x 60" Cloud Cover - a cost of $7.72. I entered my shipping preference as Fedex Courier Mail and paid $5.80 shipping. Total cost - $13.52.

I've never used FCM as a shipping agent before and I might have to wait for over three weeks for the parcel to arrive but that's fine.
I wish we had the choice of this shipping on all the products we could buy from America. The alternative, Priority International, was $28.75 for the same order.

That's really keen service.
What kind of machine do you have?
Is it a special foot?

Husqvarna diamond ,a clear invisible zipper foot.I have bought a few feet & a speciality bobbin case on ebay from the US & all have arrived within 14 days but they seem to be getting here quicker. They are so much cheaper there & the postage could even be dearer if I got them here.

I think I am the world's greatest online shopper, just ask Pauline. It seems every week I am waiting for something to arrive.
If the site has a membership with a newsletter I will always take advantage of specials, but I don't even mind paying full price as long as the supplier uses reasonable shipping. SOME DON'T and I will never buy from them.

I will often write and ask suppliers to use a cheaper shipping option of First Class Mail International and if they won't, they lose the sale.
I know there is no tracking with that mail option but my reasoning is, they handle so much mail that they have to shift it quickly so my goods are in the system for a much shorter time, hence less chance of them going missing. FCMI is even faster than Priority Mail International, GO FIGURE.

I truly believe Ray and I are helping to keep the US economy afloat. LOLOLOL!!!!!

It's perverse, I know, but I'd rather lose a parcel in transit than be slugged by a business that's trying to make money from the postal system.
I don't mind paying a bit extra for packing, but paying for 'going to the post office'??? I find that one hard to accept.

When you are ordering machine embroidery supplies online ask the cuties before you hit that submit button. They know the best sites, best sales, best prices. It pays to compare.

That's for sure Bev. I will remember that if there is anything I need in future from USA.

I've learnt a lot from the Cuties' messages about sales and good deals... for instance, the great Metro Thread deal which has stocked me up with many years' worth of gorgeous threads.

That reminds me - when I visit AZ I love to pour over, and drool over, the daily junk mail. It's my job to collect the coupons, but remembering to take them to the stores is another thing entirely.

Hey, Alma, that's great! So glad you were able to get it on sale, even if the shipping was almost as much as the product. I know you guys are far away from us in USA, but gee, does everything have to come to you by dugout canoe? Even letters are expensive from here to you. Glad you were able to take advantage and get your Clouds, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji

Hi Marji - not everything arrives by dugout canoe..... yet. Some places still depend on boomer-pouch delivery.
You know ..... I have never, ever had to wait very long for shipments from the USA and sometimes I've received deliveries within the week - now that really is remarkable.
Some ebay sellers who I know have young family commitments have managed to get orders to me quicker than I can get mail from interstate here in Australia.
The USA postal system is a bit a bit expensive but don't knock it too much - our guys here knock off at 5 p.m. Friday and don't begin again until 9 a.m. Monday. At least you have postal service on the weekend.

Just hope those Clouds streak to me on silver lightning... er, lining.... :}
