Teri,
You are a wonderful Granddaughter to think about and take care of your Grandmother like you do. You are truly blessed! Enjoy every moment with you have with her.

What a blessing it is to have a grandparent(s), and what a blessing you are to your GM. It is obvious how much you love her! I know that the Lord will bless the two of you, and that you will have a wonderful time with Him cruisin'. Cherish each word, gesture, smile, and story! They will last a lifetime. As for DH, choose your battles and pray to the Lord. He will guide you. *4U

Teri, have you ever thought of video taping your talks with your grandmother? My husband and I did when his grandmother was in a nursing home. She was not suppose to last long (she was 90 and she lived to 101). She told us stories of moving to Texas from Oklahoma on a covered wagon, building their home and farm in Texas, raising their 11 children and on and on. But she couldn't remember what she ate for lunch an hour ago. :) She didn't mind us taping our talks and we now cherish them. She will always be in our hearts but our children have loved watching those tapes. My prayers are with you and your grandmother.

Teri, if you have a video recorder, you would so treasure these outings later. Then you can listen to her stories to your hearts content.!;)

Teri, dear one - you are doing the right thing - keep taking her out - enjoy the time - keep her mind active - cherish the stories - laugh with her - you will have so much fun tonight - I must tell you a story sometime about a tight rope walker - to understand the difference between belief and faith. Hehehe! *4U

Hey, Teri! I have fibo too, it can be a real bummer. So can husbands, but they challenge us, and complete us. I lost mine in November, and still miss him terribly. You are right to trust that Power that made the Universe, ways will be made straight in ways we can't imagine. Or else, we'll learn to appreciate what may be around the next crook in that crooked road. I'm so glad you can feel safe here, my dear. marji

Have a wonderful time with your Grandmother, rosie, I had a wonderful Nan who kept us all captivated with her stories. my grandmother, well, the last words I ever said to her were, "stubborn old battleaxe". Horrible as it sounds, in 7 years I was the only member of the family that ever got a response from her after I said it. She was not a nice woman at all, it took such a comment for her to just look at me (if looks could kill..... ) But Nan, well, we cherished every story no matter how many times she told them over and again. Have a wonderful time with the old cars.

Hang in there with hubby, remember why you married him, and all the good things about him.

Oh my dear you do need to cherrish every moment you can spend with your grandmother.I lost mine when I was 20 we had so many good times together. She taught me to sew knit crochet ect.I probably wouldn't be here today if she hadn't done this for me.Most of the time you can iron out the problems with dear old hubby some way. Take each day as it comes& keep your chin up.Hugs & *4u

Oh dear Teri, you really are in the wars sweetie, you're in my prayers. Enjoy your trip to Cruisin' Grand with your GM, and when she tells you the *repeats of the repeats* just enjoy listening to how sweet her voice is and how excited she sounds about her stories. Hugs and a flower for you sweetie.

There is a reason why God sent you here to be with people who are safe for you to share with, who love you and pray for you. You and yours are in our hearts and prayers, always.

-more- …..Again, thank you my friends! I can feel your prayers. I am going to pick my Grandmother up this evening and take her to Cruisin' Grand (see link)... she has another appointment with the doctor this afternoon, so I'm praying she's "with it" to enjoy the old cars, like she normally does, and enjoy the company of all the people. It's so funny, because she tells me the same stories over and over... "See this car Teri, this was like the one I went on my first date in... see the rumble seat?"... ;-) “Oh, and this one was like our first car when we got married in 1945”. Truly is cute. I just say “Oh really… “ smile, nod and go on to the next story. I treasure these stories actually… In addition to her situation, DH and I aren’t getting along too well and my fibro myalgia is acting up. BUT, aside from this, I am learning the most valuable lesson (long lesson in progress)…. If we do not TRUST IN, CLING TO AND RELY UPON the living GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we are in sin. I told the LORD this morning that I can only give you a minute by minute account for myself… but for these next few minutes, I trust YOU. And when I do trust Him, He makes my crooked paths straight. May we all fully search our hearts and ask ourselves… do we really trust GOD? I love you girls so much… this site is VERY important to me… Thanks for making this a safe forum to share my situation, my family and especially my heart. xoxoxo
