How much do you think I should charge? Any ideas will be greatly welcome.

Thanks

congrats on your first order and that is a great one, I would also suggest maybe test washing one towel first, then sew the design and see how they look. most towels shrink somewhat, which means your design will not, you do not actually have to wash them, just dampen them and throw in the dryer if needed BEFORE stitching.

If all they want is the words Spa Queen, there can't be a lot of stitches in it. Again, depends on the part of the country. But with an order that size, I bet they would want a good price. I personally would do them for $4 with nothing but writing, exp. with that size order. I do names, monograms, etc. on people's items for $5. But that's a different file to set up everytime. With this you only have to create it once. But do get your expenses before you start on the order!!!! Let us know how it goes! And great deal!

Congratulations - I am shocked that you got an order that size without even talking prices. You have some good advice from some that sell towels and do a great business doing so - so I will just congratulate you and leave a *4U

Congratulations.
I would do one, to show them what they will be getting.
Then I would also ask for a deposit eg. your cost for the towels and then 50% of what you going to charge for labour.
Also make them sign for the order.
Once they have seen the stitch out sample.

Hugs Yvonne

I go to Curves and our owner is crafty too. We Cricut together and she asked me to do her some towels for prizes. She is a friend and it was only 14 towels so I did them dirty cheap (cost). This lady got one of the prize towels and wants to give them as Christmas Gifts. thanks for your advice.

It's those variables depending on where you live (if it is a large city or small town), the type of clients the spa has and the quality of the towel. When they placed the order did they indicate what they were willing to pay? With it being a hand towel size, somewhere between $5 and $10. Use your best judgement and good luck on the order.

I am just outside the big city of Atlanta GA. The spa is in Roswell. I tend to look at cost of supplies and forget to charge for time. I don't want to over charge. The $4 mark sounds right on. thanks

I think $4 sounds good. Double the cost and add the emb cost. I don't know where you found the towels for a Dollar, but maybe you can buy wholesale. I bought some from www.speedysuppliers.com for $15.95 per doz or $1.33 ea . These were hand towel size ,spa quality. This site is my source for the fingertip towels and they are really nice! Kay

This co is out of Norcross , GA and fast ship. I did not know you were GA also. I actually want to go there and hand pick towels, which the owner said I could. It is inside the perimeter {285} and I wanted someone to go with me. Any offers??

That's great, do you work at home or have your own shop? I do some emb. for others, but it is hard for me to find time being at home, there are always things that need to be done first, if you know what I mean!!!! I can't seem to bring myself to charge what it's really worth. But like Angel said $1 per thousand stitches is what I've heard, but some designs have so many stitches, it is really hard to ask such a high price. Good luck and happy stitching! Jane from Alabama!

I would say $1 per thousand stitches on that large of an order, and at least double your cost on the towels. Even if it is just two words, it is very time consuming with the hooping, stablilizing, etc.

good advise and probably the most fair way to price this job without knowing just what the design is going to be... A+ for your answer! :) I also would have covered this with the shop owner prior to committing to the order.
