Thank you Ladies, yes I do not like the raw edges either and will try the french seams.

This is a great little purse. I have the normal pattern with raw seams inside but I haven't done it with French seams and nor have I tried it with overlocked seams. I'm trying at the moment to work out an easy lining. It might be a tad confusing but I think I can do it.
