Oh I know exactly how you feel. Happened to my daughter last year in her cottage(SA) and two months later with her dad. He later died of his wounds. So, while I am here in the Midlands(UK) I enjoy the "freedom" and "safety". Strongs that side
Your son is very lucky to get away without getting hurt.I'll pray fr you.
OH this is awful, thanks the lord your son is okay!! But how sad it is this things happen, let's pray indeed for a better world.
So glad your son is ok God bless him and your family
Lenamae
This world that we live in is not easy, you have to watch out every where you go. I laways pray for my daughter and son angels, to protect them, we have to leave everytig in God's hands. Nybor i pray for your daughter, and her baby. God bless them.
You are quite right, we can pray for our families & friends safety and then leave it in God's hands
it happed to me to in my garage gun to the head and they cleand me out it happed to my daughert in Cape Town and I could go to her as Iam 2000km away but God as been whith us
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear this, isn't it a sad, sad country that we live in? A very pretty country, but fairly dangerous as well I am glad that you survived your horrid experience! Material things can be replaced, not so?
wow i am glad in my bush thats not happening,BUT like you say pray ,pray, pray hugs for you carolyn
Thank you and I am glad that you dont have to deal with this sort of thing as well
It's a very scary world, we live in a small community the nearest gas station is 30 minutes away and a similar thing happened to a local young man, we are always watching for strangers.
Your son is very fortunate to get away without getting hurt.
Gosh, such a small community and still it happens! Unfortunately in South Africa there are very few places where we can really 'watch out for strangers' because there are so many people roaming the streets. I love SA but it can be unsafe quite often
Terri......I can't imagine how you must feel, as a parent is always in "protection" mode and the angst that you have when you can't be there for them in times of need, but God stepped in for you and now you are able to provide the emotional support he will need to get through this.....I am so sorry your family had to experience this nightmare and hope it will soon be a bad memory without the emotions attached...hugs..Vicki
Hi Vicki, thank you for the moral support! We are always in 'protection mode', unfortunately both my sons live 7 hours away so at the moment I can only be there for him telephonically. Bless you for your kindness and I pray that soon Stephen will remember his bad experience as a distant memory Hope you have a super weekend
I can't imagine the fright of having this happen...there is nothing like the grace of God....I know you rejoice over your son not harmed...I will be praying for your son and you to have peace....God is so good.
I am pleased that everything is ok, stuff can be replaced but a life can not rebuild.
Warm hugs for you and your son
I keep wondering why people are becoming more this way now? What is happening to so many? Glad your son is ok.
I think the whole world is struggling financially and the poor are getting poorer and more desperate. It's a sad world at the moment
This is so sad, that we have to live with this.
Thank goodness he is ok. Hugs Yvonne
Thank you sweetie, it is sad but we all have to deal with these things and make the best of where we are
Thank goodness he's OK. That is the main thing.
I have given you a flower as all else has been said already. So sorry that it happened.
I am gobsmacked!!!! I don't know what to say.
This is Shocking!
I am so glad your son is ok.
I hope he reported it to the law and I hope and pray that it never happens again.
hugs n blessings, Meganne
Thank you Meganne, he did report it to the police, I doubt that much will happen though and I also hope and pray that it never happens again to anybody that I know, in fact I wish it would never happen to anybody at all!!!!
I am so glad your son is OK. There are many desperate people in the world and they will do desperate things but also some that do things like that just for kicks. As a mother of grown children I know how you feel. We never stop worrying about them.
You are right, there are many, many desperate people, and I would not be so upset if they "took" mobiles etc., even the car, BUT it's the violence and aggression of guns and knives that really perturbs me
it so very sad what is going on in our world today
yes as a mother you just wont your children safe young or old
My son and I had that same sort of problem a couple years ago. The cops told us, that if anything even similar ever happened like that again, to run them over...the whole works of them. Take away their ability to take away our lives. I also went and bought a few firearms. My son has received more than his share of close calls, and he is the most gentle person you would ever meet.
I am so sorry to hear that you and your son have been through the same nightmare, the cops are right, one should ride over them!! Unfortunately for my son, Stephen, he was boxed in by traffic on the front, back and sides, so his hands were really tied!!! I offered Steve my firearm, but he doesnt want to carry one around which i can understand
Having a firearm is a double edged sword at very best. It can invite trouble as well as get you out of it. I wish that people in general could be a little more responsible so this didn't happen, but we all know how well that is working. :(
Just horrible, thinking of you and yours. Hope this does not leave a lasting fear! Hugs Sally
So glad to hear your son is O. K. and venting is what we Mother's do. Thank God he was watching over your son.
It was a true miracle that they did not kill or injure your son. Pfff, truly frightening. The world is getting worse and worse.
Thanks God your son is fine, everything else is replaceable. All we can do is keep them in prayer.
What a horrifying ordeal he had to go through. This can happen to anyone anywhere in any country and is not an uncommon occurrence. So grateful he came through unharmed.
Terri, I surely can understand why you are venting - that is just so scary - your son surely was being taken care of my the Lord. And you can not projtect your kids - no matter how much you want to from a distance - but Prayer does help.
Well thats scary and can shake you up for a while.
But as stated prayer for your son is the best defense.
Terri,
I am so glad no one was injured. Today's society is
getting more and more dangerouse; one cannot be too vigilant of their surroundings and be on guard at all times. That is sad to say, but crime seems to be on the rise everywhere. Mean, greedy persons who would rather steal, than work ruin our peace and
prosperity in all countries of the world. May the Lord have mercy on the ones that try to harm me and my loved ones, because I won't!
A permitted gun owner/carrier!
Angel, (USA)
Oh wow, someone after my own heart!!! Thank you Angel for the kind words. It is indeed a miracle that Stephen wan't hurt or killed Crime is on the rise everywhere and here in South Africa, especially coming closer to Christmas, we have to be really aware of our surroundings I am also a licensed, legal gun owner and have no qualms in protecting what is mine (including my grown up children!!!)
OMG! You must feel intense. How scary! Please take gentle care Terri!
I am a bit nervous and jumpy mainly because my son is 8 hours drive away from me. All lI want to do is rush there and hug him!! A mom stays a mom forever!!!! Thanks for your kindness I really appreciate it
he has his own guardian angel on his shoulder......soozie
Awful experience, so glad your son is now safe. hugs
Gosh, that's terrible. It's a miracle they only took his mobile, GOD was definitely watching over him! I see you live in SA, where else would this happen?!! Gasps from a despairing fellow SAfrican.
I see you are from Durban, not that far away from where I am :) My son is indeed very lucky A mobile can be replaced and his car can be fixed, I just hope he doesnt go the way of many of SA's and become angry and scared!!
This is dreadful, I live in Hillcrest Natal and we live with this fear everyday Thank God your son is Ok Much Love!
Thanks be to God that he is ok. It's a scary world out there.
Thank you sweetheart. God was most certainly holding his hand I cannot begin to imagine how scared he must have been, although he is trying to keep the whole thing quiet so that I dont panic
Life is not all roses today, we just have to leave things in God's hands. Last night my daughter went into hospital with spinal cord infection, and I too am praying. She is nearly 3 months pregnant, so today we find out some results.
No my love, life is definitely not all roses I will pray with you for your daughter I pray that she and her baby will both be fine and healthy sooner rather than later God Bless youXXX
Thank you Terri. I hope your son gets over his shocking time. It will be in his memory forever and I know how it is for the Moms to watch them. God bless you and your son. Robyn
Please let me/us know what the results are of your daughters tests I am praying that all will be fine and that she will soon have a bundle of joy
That is terrible. I hope she is comfortable and recovers quickly without lasting effects or harm to the baby. Please post an update when you have more news.
Praying for your daughter and future grandbaby....Gods blessings to them both
