Well wouldn't you know it, I got a casual nursing job and I did my first shift today. I get home and the phone is wringing off the hook for embroidery work. Life is very strange indeed. lol.

Congratulations on the new job. Sometimes life gives us conflicting directions. It seems to be feast or famine. I too finally got a job after 15 months of unemployment. Today was my first day but when I got to there the street was lined with police and fire equipment. When I was able to get in I found that it was my new employer that had a fire this morning. I have a job but no place to work. Hopefully by next week some time they should have things cleaned up or moved to a temporary location. We will just have to see what happens.

Ohmygoodness, not a great start! I sure hope it's worth the delay when you eventually start this new job and you enjoy it.

katydid by katydid 12 Aug 2011

Not the best first day!!! What do you do tomorrow or do you wait until next week?

fannyfurkin by fannyfurkin 12 Aug 2011

Wow. what an interesting start to your new job. I hope they get it cleaned up soon.
So as not to bump this post to the top again, I am going to say a really big thank you for all of your well wishes. I really am very happy with the way things are going. I am only working a couple of days a week and will still have plenty of time for embroidery. Life is indeed looking very good for me at the moment, and I am so happy.

Very strange, one question did you enjoy your shift? If you are doing casual could you possible combine both nursing and embroidery. I still work full time and that is not much fun, as I only have weekends and nights to embroider but keeps me busy and out of trouble lol. Hugs Sally
