In my machine, I have an edit mode that has lines on it and I am able to write sentences with this feature.
It is very nice for quilt labels, poems, etc.

I use my PE design to sort out fonts when embroidering

I, like many other cuties, use Embird basic to line up pre-digitized fonts. I am saving up for the Font Engine as it would be really nice to be able to take fonts on my computer (I am a paper crafter and have thousands of fonts) and make them into designs for the machine. You can use your trial of Embird basic to try lining up pre-digitized fonts.

You can not save the result in the trial version.

Ok another question. I have Embird trial can I just buy the font program to do what I want?

If you only want to align text using alphas already digitised, you would only need to buy Embird basic, which contains Manager and Editor. It is a great way to start out and often leads to even greater things.

I originally bought Embird to be able to edit designs to suit my own needs and, well, it just didn't stop there. LOL!!!

The FONT ENGINE module allows you to create your own alphas using the True Type fonts stored on your computer but it will create whole words, sentences etc. and you can add text to embroidery designs, It is a fantastic module that I could not be without as I love doing text designs for people who can't.

I never use my machines to line up text, it just isn't my favourite way to do it. I guess I don't trust the outcome to be what I want and it is not as easy to use as it is to do it in most embroidery software. Just my opinion and probably not worth much to anyone but me. LOL!!!

I have a brother and in the manual is a section on how to connect characters. What the machine does is set the start point to the lower left corner and marks the lower right corner for the next hooping. Once your hoop is attached, you adjust your start point for the mark! Sounds easy right? Happy Stitching!

I have only done this twice, but I put names on the back of jackets. I used a washable chalk to mark the center of the font on the fabric, then measured over to the next one including the space between letters,(look at your hoop, find the marks, the center of the hoop is not the center of the design). I actually started with the middle, then worked my outside. Bottom line, lots & lots of careful measuring. Good luck to you! Tammy

Thank you Tammy. I love a lot of the new fonts that coming out and you one one letter from one style and then the other letters from another one.

Do you have some software that you can put them together in before you take them to the machine? What machine do you have? with my machines I can merge designs together and make sure they are all lined up properly, otherwise you would just have to mark each position carefully using the design template.
Alice.

I have a Brothers 750D. I don't have any soft ware. I thought I might have to you templates. Thank you Fanny

I also have a Brother 750 D and I wouldn't even attempt to line up text on it, it would cause me too much angst!

LOL!!!
