I also am getting the message that "new hardware is detected" but it can't find the driver. Does anyone know what to do? I tried removing and reloading. Didn't help!

Thanks!

Welcome to the CUTE family.

If you are getting an message that says 'no writer module connected' that generally means - you need a writer card reader - something that plugs into your USB port and allows you to put a card into it - for your machine - to transfer your designs - without that writer card reader - it will not allow you to print out the files, usually.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!! I have been struggling with my machine ALL day and I needed a bit of sunshine! :o)
I figured it out!!! Well, not really but, the problem is solved! I uninstalled the software, restarted my computer, said a prayer, cussed a little, and re-downloaded. Lo and behold, it worked!!! I am so excited to stitch out something other than the alphabet again!!!

You are going to have a blast. There is so much fun to be done, put your computer near your embroidery machine, and check out the freebie list. I have an SE350 what's yours?

Thank you! I am really kinda embarrassed to admit what machine I have! LOL It is a HE-120. I really don't use it enough to warrant a new machine but, I sooooo want one!!! ;o)

Welcome to this wonderful site. Ask lots of questions and someone will always try and help out. Check out all the tabs and have lots of fun downloading (when you get organised with your machine)the free designs on here. Designs by Cuties are all made and given free by our members.

I see "justonlyme" has given you a good suggestion. Good luck with it all.

You may not have the right drivers for your PED Basic. Do a search to find the drivers and install them. That "should" help the problem. I know that when my Windows XP computer finally gave up its ghost, I bought a Windows 7 version and NONE of my old software runs on it. Some things, I can go out and get drivers for. It is definitely work a shot. If that doesn't work, contact the makers of your program to see what they have to say. Good luck. I KNOW switching computers is a bear!!!
PS:
Welcome to Cute. This is a fantastic place, with the most wonderful people! I'm just getting to know them myself.
