This is a great idea especially now that some companies are now using dark spools and sharpies are of no use there. Be sure to turn your tip into Emblibrary, I'm sure a gift certificate will be coming your way very soon.

Great idea. Sometimes we overlook the simplest ideas.
Thanks for sharing your idea.

Thanks - Could have kicked myself when I thought of it as I had put about 1/2 of the stickers from the top on the bottom with the aid of a letter opener to get it in that smal space and then did some with the sharpie before the "idea light" came on.

Great Idea. I did like many others - a Sharpie - yours is much nicer!

Thanks - I like this way better - right after I tried one first. Now I don't have to lift the spool up and look under for the # or get my reading glasses on! hehe

Looks really neat - I just write the number with permanent marker pen on the plastic inside.

Thanks. Yeah, I started doing that as that's what I did with the first set I got and then thought of this - much easier to see.

Awesome! I used a sharpie and marked them on the edge as you put your labels. I have a label maker so I guess I need to buy some label tape. I used my computer to make labels for the drawers so I could keep up with the thread colors and keep them in order as the sets I have are in on their site. I may try to post a pic later. The only problem is I need another drawer storage cabinet from them to finish storing my thread. Someday it will happen. You have a great idea.

A very good idea. I take the sticker off of the top and place it inside the stem on the bottom. I use a pencil to press it down.

I did some like this, but needed a magnifying glass to see it and then got out the sharpie because I could put a lot bigger #'s underneath and then the "idea" light bulb went on - why not use the label maker - isn't that what I got it for? Yup, Yup

I like your idea better than mine, I was using a sharpie to label my threads, and some times the ink would get on the thread ... LOL!

Thanks - I like this way better too - my sharpie always wants to dry out at the wrong time!

I started using a sharpie as that had been a suggestion from a cutie when I first started and that's the way I did it for the first set of thread I had gotten - I like this better.
Trial and error!

Thanks. Took a bit to get a good pic. as the flash would go off and because the thread has such a brightness to it, the pics. weren't coming out very good - you couln't see the label - glad I finally got it.

I really like the lables. I just took a round sticky note and put the number inside at the bottom. But I really like what you did. Great job!!

Looks nice. I do write the #, and a name if there is one with a sharpie. These have a good size space to write on.

yeah, like I said, that's what I did to start with when I came up with this and figured I'd go the extra mile to make it easier for myself later.

great idea, and sounds good but too many to label this way, maybe when I order more or maybe we could get Metro threads to use your idea a label them all in this manner...yea.....that would be the best...try it they might buy your idea....

well, it seems like a lot, but it goes faster than you think and you only do it once. But if you have 2 or 3 of the same color you just program the function to print how many you need. I think it took me almost as long to remove the metro label from the top and put the # on the bottom.

Great idea! I wish all manufacturers would label their thread in a more visible place with larger letters that are easy to see.

Yes, and not with labels stuck on top where the spindle goes through!

What a super idea! Silly one here, I've written the # under the plastic thread cap on each spool. Then of course, I have to pull each one out, grab my reading glasses, and squint at it to see what it really says. LOL! I definitely like your idea better!

thanks, that's why when I thought of this (of course, after I had already written the # underneath) I wondered why I hadn't thought of it sooner!

I have multiples of every wonderful color of Metro emb. thread, so am waiting to see what you've come up with. Oh, please... don't make me wait any longer! ;)

I have a labeller. After taking the time to use a sharpie to put the color # on the bottom, I then thought - dummy me, I have a labeller that if I use the two line function the print would be the right size for the emb spools!
Not quite done, just about. GD is here and is now doing some of the labels for me.

I like it!!! I always put the sticker on the bottom and find them everywere LOL so I have no idea what color I am using hopefully I don't runout of the color when I need it. you thik these companies would label them for us better.

This is a great idea. I take the little label from the top of the spool, insert it into the opening in the bottom of the spool, and then also write the number on them with a sharpie. Has worked so far, but like your idea better.
