Has anyone tried the embird software the iconizer. You should be able to see the design and not just an icon on your screen

Bernina is on the lists so I'll download an .art design and check this out thoroughly for you. give me an hour to get my (late) breakfast and a cuppa, be back soon, hugs, Meganne

OK checked it out and yes works on .art files the same as all the others. Converts from .art to other formats but does not appear to convert TO .art format. They will probably add that feature at some time as they are always adding features that are requested by users, they've only just recently added the Elna Xquisite .EMD format. hugs, M

Answer to Rosie, I've only had Embird for 3 weeks and want first to digitise True Type fonts so that fancy ones turn out better than they do with my other program. So yes I'm learning on Embird and finding it so easy to change things but haven't actually stitched out anything yet. What I DO find is brilliant is that there is so much SUPPORT for Embird, besides 3 free downloadable manuals, there is a great group and everyone is so helpful there.
Also you only need to buy the main Embird program to do a lot of things, so inexpensive at $116 from Secrets & you can purchase the other parts (called plug-ins) seperately (Iconizer $18.50) as you improve your skills & want to do more involved digitising. hope this helps roses 4U, Meganne

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for answering my question. I will go and download the trial version and then buy the real thing.

Hi, I asked in my Embird group about using Embird with Bernina and this is one response I got-- "Does not convert to .Art, but bernina can read all the others. I have a 440 and use Embird."
Hope this helps, Meganne

Yes BKD, I just bought the whole Embird Suite (except Cross Stitch) from Secrets of Embroidery, (reduced prices there for it) and I love the Iconizer module. I no longer have to save a picture file with every design I download now, makes downloading so much quicker, (I can download more designs now in the time I'm saving :-)) Iconizer is brilliant, not only can you see the design (in Windows Explorer, if you right mouse click you see all the design's details and a larger picture AND you can convert your design from a right mouse click too and open an even larger -quick preview- picture from the design file whether it be .pes -.hus -.jef, etc. whichever design files you choose to allocate Iconizer to view. It's great if you're searching for certain size designs to use you don't have to open each one in your embroidery software to see what size it is. It's fabulous and I'm sold. Can't wait to master more of Embird's features. roses 4U, Meganne

I have ART files for designs since I have a Bernina embroidery machine. Will I be able to see the designs. Will I be able to see all designs and then make file folders to put then in so I would not have to look at every picture?

One feature I really love is the Convert (reformat) since very few designs are available in .EMD (Elna Xq2) I have to reformat EVERY design I buy or download. In my other program this means opening each and every design individually and re-saving in the .emd format. With Embird I can select a whole list of designs using right mouse menu then Convert the whole lot without opening a one. Yeehah! I love it! M

Iconzer is a seperate plug-in that you download and register. if you go to "HELP" \ "Installed Plug-ins" scroll down and you will see the list of Plug-ins that you have AND whether they are registered or not. cheers & roses, M
