Maybe this is a dummy question but it is any difference between water soluble stabilizer or H2O gone?

letvia , I don't think so . I have used other brands (sulky etc) but I really have fallen in love with H2O. It just seems to work better for me. Hope this helps. A flower for you.

The H2O Gone is mostly what I use now. It works gr8 with FSL. That much I know. I haved used solvy b4 which is gr8 for monogramming, thread sketching, quilting, applique, lace work, fagoting, buttonholes, 3-D work, edges, delicate fabrics, shadow work and cut work (just copied that from the package hehehe). Both are WSS. *4U ><>

Thanks for asking. This seems to be a puzzler for a lot of us. I have 2 kinds and both were bought by my DH. One looks like fabric and the other is thin and clear. I like the fabric one best for lace projects.... Too bad I don't have more.

Letvia.....shame on you! There aren't dumb questions. H2O gone is made by Sew Stable and is a brand of water soluable stabilizer. It has properties of according to the web site: H20 Gone is a 100% water-soluble embroidery backing. It will completely dissolve in water or when laundered with no residue. Its unique fiber construction allows for best applications such as lace, appliqués, and emblems. It is perfect for embroidered applications that need stability but absolutely no stabilizer remaining. Remember that there are different WSS (water soluable stabilizers) for different uses and are of different thicknesses and types (as in some are slick and some are fabric like). Thanks for asking.....;)

Hi, Letvia! Well, someone else will know for sure, but I think H2O Gone is just a brand name of a WSS, like Ruthie said. I use Floriani WSS, and they call it "Wet & Gone", and I think Vilene is another brand name of a WSS. You know that there are different weights for different things, like for the free standing lace you use the WSS that looks like regular stabilizer, for topping you would use the one that looks like plastic wrap. Somebody that uses a lot more WSS than I do can elaborate on this for you. And by the way, we agreed there were no 'dumb' questions, right? Hee hee hee. Better to ask than to ruin a project!! Love you, Letvia!! Marji

Thank you so much Marji. I thought was different because it looks different. I had that one that looks like plastic wrap and bought yesterday the H2O that looks like regular stabilizer, but now I know hahaha. Flower and XoXo

Letvia, isn't H2O Gone a brand name? Which would mean that it is a type of water soluble stabilizer. I don't know how it differs from other brands though. Hugs and a flower sweetie.

I don't think so letvia. They both disappear when water is added. Of course I do not know about their thickness but someone else will 4 sure *4U
