Jo, congratulations - isn't that a wonderful tip? I think you will enjoy spending your voucher - there are so many ways to save on that site, with the speicals and all.

From Jo: After preparing my bias binding strip, I roll it on an empty toilet paper roll. I put a ribbon through the roll, hang it around my neck, and as I sew the binding to the quilt edge, I just unroll as I sew. Keeps it under control and works as a "third" hand.

Good tip! Congratulations. I use toilet rolls in the same manner, but never thought of hanging them around my neck. Mine usually roll aroud in a tray. this is clever!

Congrats! Good tip. Have you tried using the empty roll from saran rap or something like that? I find these rolls are much stronger (you can cut them - I use a sereated knife - to the size you want).
Have fun spending your cert.

I use the larger ones when I cut my vilene to the size that I want and roll it on them.

Great idea I usually do part of this suggestion but have never strung a ribbon through the roll but will give it a try today as I'm about to bind a baby quilt. Thanks and enjoy spending your gift certificate....actually you can get $10.00 worth for goodies there with $5.00 off. Hugs Karen

Great tip! I've used the TP roll part before, but your addition of the ribbon to hang it around your neck is Brilliant! Well done and congrats! *4U

I had the tip yesterday and emailed emblibrary to ask could I use my voucher on the happy hour. And YES I can.i just need to choose my items and email them before i pay to get another code. So i get 10 dollars worth of designs and the 5 VIP designs which is what I really want for free. If you have an invite to happy hour and a voucher go for it. Now to decide is the hard part but the VIP designs are really cute this time and you can't get them any other way. Great tip by the way

so - how did that work - you put in both codes?

bevintex by bevintex 22 Jul 2011

No, Kelly at emblibrary will send me a new code or she can check out my cart from her end. At emblibrary all you have to do is ask. There cust service is great.

So, are you talking of a future happy hour, or is one happening I don't know about? I usually get notices-I buy enough from them, I should-but haven't gotten anything since the last normal mail.

Happy hour for July is going on this weekend. Ends Sunday at midnight central time.

I got mail from a sewing store-can't remember who-and they had a bar thing for $$ to do that, and I thought geez, this is something I have been doing forever! Goes to show that we always have things to share. Necessity IS the Mother of invention.
