A long while back a cutie left a blog about the problems she was having with diet coke and aspartame sweetner, can any one remember the details and who it was?

Great links cuties have posted. I just want to add one additional thing about artificial sweeteners. A Dr once told me that they have been linked to early alzheimers. Anyone with family members like parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. that have the disease are more like to have it and artificial sweeteners just speeds up the process.

Cuties stay so busy with embroidery and other crafts that their brains are more healthy than most but let's not take any chances.

Stay healthy everyone.

I hadn't seen it, but I checked the links below.
I have stayed away from aspertame and other artificial sweetners as years ago my mother had said nobody should use artificial sweetners as they did harm and they would be better off using the real stuff! I found out accidentally years ago that I body does not like aspertame. My SIL gave me a glass of diet pepsi (I thought she had reg. pepsi) and it didn't want to stay down - out of politeness I drank it (regretfully). They have now got aspertame in all gum! My favorite was juicy fruit(stick) and it was the last one to be changed over. Now if I want gum, I have to go to bubblegum!

A friend and co-worker died a couple years ago and she drank mostly diet coke - even after I told her about aspertame and a customer had brought me an article from a paper and I showed it to her - she just shrugged it aside and made some kind of comment that by the time she drinks it it has changed and is ok! I thought then that that was what her problem was and after reading one of the links it makes me think that all the more!

Hi Ruth,

I just typed in the SEARCH bar to the right of your question the word ASPARTAME and there were a few posts about it. I've included two which have a lot of information about it.

Love and blessings Chris

Well Chris I tried this too and got nowhere. I do remember reading the original postings and it reinforced why it is something I have always avoided in my diet and my daughters when they were young

It was not me but I have been there and done that! Google aspartame and the effects on the human body and you can find worlds of info! My Dr took me off of all diet drinks almost 10 yrs ago! It was only a part of my problems but it can be deadly on your system! I have to live daily with the problems that came from so nmany yrs ,first on diet coke and then onto diet sprite. The damage had already been done before the side effects of it was discovered. I drink nothing but bottled water, some coffee, and the juices that are 1oo% juice. Ocean Spray is my main juice of choice.
My damage had already been done before the results of the studies on diet drinks were realeased to the public. I nearly lost my life after surgery to try to correct some of the damage that all of my Dr's believed came directly from living off of diet drinks for so many yrs. The damage to my circulatory system can not be fixed and I have had severe arthritis for almost 30 yrs. I will be 65 in Dec. I am cripple and it has long been very painful. For the last 5 yrs, I have had severe pain just trying to walk even through my own home. I do have a riding cart but decline to use it except on rare occasions such as lengthy outings. I am so afraid that if I become dependant on it that I will get where I can not walk at all! I was an athlete starting at the age of 5 and continued to play all sports and practice my acrobics up until I was about 35 and I discoved that I would not be able to handle my paying job and continue. I was sole provider for me and my son so the sports and acrobics had to be discontinued. I could not afford to lose my job. After the surgery, and the horrible after effects, I had to retire. It was if my life changed overnight and not for the better!
You will read many different things about the aspartame but believe me, it is dangerouus to your system. Hugs and blessings, Linda
