You spelled it correctly. I had pulmonary emboli 6 years ago this month. I was on birth control at the time and was working at a desk job so I didn't move much. As lisaatwell said they happen when you don't move enough. Certain medications can increase the likeliness of developing clots, such as hormone replacement and birth control. I have made a great recovery with a LOT of prayers, faith, and help. Your daughter and your whole family will be in my prayers as well as those of the drro prayer network. It has grown quite a lot in the last 6 years :)
Thank you for letting us know, Honeychyle.
This is a step in the right direction and I hope she continues that way until she is completely recovered.
Keep well yourself, too.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad she is feeling better. She is still in my prayers.
My mom had three pulmonary embolisms when she was 52 years old and they figured out when she fell on the ice and broke her ankle the trauma from the break and bruises made them form. Only thing was there was several months before they broke loose. She lived until she was 88. This is a life threatening situation and I pray she is not released unless they have proof there are no more. They sent my mom home after the first incident and I was checking in on her when I noticed she had the same symptoms. Prayers continue for your daughter.
This is a very serious condition. There is a reason for why this happened, I encourage you to encourage her to have the physicians determine why this occurred. Hormone replacement can do this, having surgery, or decrease in activity for a normally active person. It is not uncommon for someone who just had surgery to have this happen, especially if they are not gotten out of bed in a timely manner. Uusally a post op patient is up and out of bed within 24 hours of surgery to prevent PE (pulmonary embolism or embolus) and pneumonia. She will require treatment until this resolves, also prevent further occurances.
Dear Honeychyle, I hope you don't mind but I have put you down in my Church prayer list and have asked my congregation to keep your family upheld in prayer. All the way from the other side of the world. Love and blessings Chris
