cinnamon stick, medium warm brown with a hint of red. Went to wash it out and saw the red hint and grabbed the box to discover my mistake, lol! Oh well, it washes out in 28 washes, so I can live with it for a few weeks I guess, lol!

Its not a bad color, just not what I was expecting, lol!!

I don't know if everyone sees the same ads to the right but right now on my screen is an ad for a free trail for esalon. Customize your own hair color. I thought how appropriate. :) Glad your adventure will only last until August. And like others have said you might enjoy this new color after you get used to seeing yourself in the mirror.

So sorry. When I was in beauty school I had my hair frosted and when we put the toner on it, it turned blue. YIKES. When I went home that week-end I hid behind the frig when my boyfriend came to pick me up for a date. But...I guess he liked blue because we have been married 47 years. LOL. Hugs, Judy

I have to be careful as mine turns red if I get the wrong color for me. I wish mine would be platinum and I wouldn't do it but it is ugly. (-:

Having dyed my hair for more years than I can remember and also going some ghastly colours. I decided to let my hair go 'au natural'. It is now 2 years and I still do not know if I like the platinum look or not, although hair in much better condition than I can ever remember.

I have to laugh thinking about the 'many' colors my hair has been over the years. I wish I could have said it was because I picked up the wrong box. The first time I turned my hair bright orange...I wanted to bleach it, then chickened out after a few minutes.(It takes 2 1//2 hrs to totally remove the color from my hair) I was 16 and my mom was an angel about it. She went and picked up a box of hair color to put it back to normal.

I know someone that made so many changes to her hair, it turned a very bright orange! No not red at all! Orange! She got so many smiles and stares she had to pay a professional to change it.

Well, here, we like you no matter what color your hair is!

BTW... What brand is it that makes a color that will wash out in 28 washes? Is it hard to dye it yourself? Do you have to wash your hair first? What works best?

Clarirol Natural Instincts (one of many brands) this one has no ammonia in it, and I like a wash out when I try a new color. Although I thought I was getting a regular coloring, not a washout, I was happy to see it was a washout because it was not the color I wanted, lol.
Its easy to dye your own hair. The box has step by step instructions inside so you know what to do. On the box it also says for continued natural looking color, use every 4-6 weeks.
If its a wash out you generally wet your hair that pat it dry, never was your hair before dyeing it. Its to harsh on your hair if you do. At 28 washes I figure it'll be out at the end of August as I wash my hair every other day. Any more than that and it gets dry and frizzy, any less and it looks greasy, lol! I have fine hair, not medium weight or thick.

Thanks!!! I think that's the same brand a friend recommends. I will have to try it. I hope you hair color washes out to a color you like. :)

That is so funny...I'm sorry! Right after I was married (at age 20!) my hubby remarked as we were driving down the street & a red head walked by..I like red, I don't care what color it is. Well, a month or so later, I did exactly what you did! I got the wrong box, colored my hair & it was red, and I mean RED! He comes home to fine me crying & I quickly told him he liked red no matter what color it was! He just laughed, hugged me. It grew out but I still grin when I think about it! I still color my hair, but make sure I get the right box!

My son has medium brown hair and for senior prom he dyed it black, the dye was to wash out in 28 washes but it stained his hair black and it stayed that way till his own hair grew out long enough for him to be willing to cut it. It got very long!
For my hair, after I tired of red shades I dyed it my natural color, when it fell out from chemo it came back in almost white, I loved it and decided not to dye anymore, well, on it's own it has darkened a lot, it is not the color my profile pic shows anymore, darn it!!!

Oh my does that remind me of a really bad dye decision! I dyed my hair black for Halloween about 20 years ago. I thought I bought a box of wash out, but no it wasn't and you are suppossed to wait 10 days before dyeing your hair again. It was the longest 10 days of my life and everyone kept asking me if I was sick, lol! I looked that washed out and pale. Never using black again!! LOL!

That was a good choice to go with the semi-temp type dye. Then you can change your mind. :) Shortly after I got married, my husband wanted to dye my hair. He wouldn't tell me what color he was using. He just had me sit in the kitchen and did his thing (the newlywed trust thing). I had very long blonde hair at the time. When he was done, he was so proud and I was horrified. He dyed my hair jet black!! I couldn't go out in public like that. It made me look deathly pale. I tried to use some stuff to remove the dye, but it just ruined my hair. I cut it all off (literally) and just wore a hat till it grew back. Now it is white/gray, long and I do not let anyone do anything with it.

Been there, done that. So I just quit coloring. Look older with it colored anyhow. Remember once I was a blond for a week. UCK on me.

Well, your husband might get a surprise tonight when he finds a redhead in his bed!;)

Also, had the wrong color and drove right to town and grabbed the normal color. Didn't want to wait till the roots needed a touch up. Funny thing is once I asked my DH to bring me a box of hair color home and when he said no I asked him to at lease bring me the box to strip out all the dye and I would just go gray/grey. He came home with the hair dye. Guess he didn't want me gray yet.

Maybe you discover that you should have changed your color earlier cause it looks so amazing ;o)
Think a red hint isn't that bad. My sister changed once the brand of her hair color and instead of blond her hair went green! She had to go to a hairdresser to pull every color out of her hair and make a new blond on them but the hair was very damaged after that process.
Greetings, Bettina
PS: Remembers me to one of the designs-sets of Julias Needle *lol*

Years ago I also got a too dark colour and my hair came out BLACK. It looked so bad I had to go to the hairdresser to get the colour out for me! What made it worse was that it was a permanent colour and it would not wash out!
