(She has 3 bones in her foot that were broke in a fall and the wires and pins keep dislodging themselves and she has to go in for surgery to have them removed. She also fractured her back. She even had cervical cancer and the list goes on. Now she is really down in the dumps) Her children are aged 2-21 and I knew she needed something to keep her from going bonkers by giving the children something to do when there was a lot of snow on the ground so I stuck my neck out and bought the Wii. Her house was broke into last week in Great Falls. She has homeowners insurance but there is a $500 deductible so everything won't be able to be replaced. The Wii bundle was taken, 2 computers, a TV, and they broke the big flat screen then decided to leave it(I guess they thought they were 2 yr. olds and couldn't handle it) Wii games, and CD's, and, DVD's and a lot of items she is not sure of yet. It had to be someone they know because whoever it was knew just where everything was kept. I have never heard her so depressed. She's pulled herself up by 'her bra straps' so many times but I was always there to help and this time I can't. I just hope 'Karma' jumps up and bites them in the fanny. Sorry for feeling the need to vent.

Of course you need to vent. These sort of things just make me so mad. Why do people need to steel from others, why don't they get a job and buy there own stuff. I am sure karma will bite them, but what I really hope is that your daughter gets her things back or that someone will do a nice turn for her. I hope that her surgery goes well and she recovers.

Oh drat, why does life have to be so unfair?? I am sorry your daughter has medical problems AND painful ones too I am sure. The unfortunate thing with this world that we live in is that there are 'some' people who think it is their born right to help themselves to others property!! I pray that your daughter, her children and yourself find the strength to get through this unpleasant time.

I have great optimism her belongings will be recovered. Can only hope those responsible for the theft does the right thing and returns the items. Or the police can find the burglars and bring them to justice and make them pay restitution for that havoc they have caused. When their belongings have been returned or replaced it is recommended to engrave items with your states drivers license (do not use a social security number). Property can be carved, cut, or etched to produce a good enough impression of your number that the police can trace items pawned as you the property's owner and get them back to you easier. It may also prevent a thief from choosing to steal your belongings because they are more identifiable if they are caught with them. Some Police Departments have engravers to be used to engrave your belongings.

I know it works to engrave things with a drivers license number. I have been burglarized a number of times and the large items usually taken are engraved and they were not taken. There is also a pen of some sorts that can only be seen under certain lighting that seemed interesting to me. Being she likes to be able to trade in items to 'upgrade' or get new/different games when the children are bored with the ones they already have, etching may not be the answer for her because they won't take them for trade but perhaps something like the pen would work and is something I could get for her if I could remember what it was called. Oh, well, perhaps it will come to me. She has learned a good many tricks to make her money stretch.

Thanks. I told a friend that with the economy the way it is and the job situations the way they are, there are people who will feel the need to do things they ordinarily would not do or even thought to do. He laughed at me when I told him. I was thinking silly. Desperate people do desperate things not considering the hurt they cause. There are people living in tent cities that would never have considered living that way.

No need to apologize. You have every reason to be sad and angry too. This is so frustrating to not be able o physically be there to help her and give her hugs and to see that she really is ok physically. Can you call the local TV station and put a bug in their ear to do something?

How absolutely horrible! I've been broken into twice and decided to get an alarm system. No problems since and pray it continues that way. She has had enough in her life without this! You not only lose your stuff but you feel so violated. If she can chk around some pawn shops, she might find some things. I did find my wedding band. It does sound like kids and someone she knows. I know you'd like to get your hands on them for doing this to your daughter and her family!!! I know it's just stuff, but it was HER stuff. It's hard to not get irritated about these things but she and her family are safe and I do hope they can get some of their things replaced.
