I didn't not but every day I wrote: of coarse the DAILY. And now I know it had to be;

of course the Daily.

I didn't know and when I looked in the dictionary now I saw this word means totally different. So my apologize for this. Hope to write the correct word from now on, and I hope I did not upset you with this wrong spelling.

Oh dear, PLEASE EVERYBODY:
the cutie that told me did me a favor!!!!
The only thing I apologized for was the combination of the word coarse with the word daily. Because know I know coarse means: rough(I looked in the dictionary) . But please don't be angry or disappointed in the one who corrected me. She realy did it nice and we are never to old to learn something. So I thank her for this and know now how to post it correctly!

Postscript to my other comment: This is the wording of my PRIVATE note to gerryvb Hi Gerry First, thank you for all the daily information you give to us -- very nice job. But to hopefully not hurt your feelings, could you change the spelling of one word? It is the word
course (instead of coarse) .....Again, thank you. j

I appreciate what you did and in private, it looks like it was appreciated and thats the way I originally took it. I don't think I would have had the nerve to do it at all simply because it could be taken so wrong, and that fact that my ex husband and youngest daughter are horrific spellers. So the wrong form of a word that sounds just like another word I might not have even caught, as I am to busy trying to figure out what they even wrote. Soo Sorry you got the raw end of the deal so to speak. You are NOT a Loser! Just a caring person. If you had posted it out for everyone to see, AND had been mean I think I could understand you being called on it. Since that did not happen and gerryvb posted it as a complanment to you, I see you as a WINNER. Hugs to you
Diane

Wow, I never dreamed that my private mail to Gerryvb would stir up a hornet's nest. Especially the snide comment that I have too much time on my hands. Are you that perfect to judge without knowing the background? Up until today it was fun to click on Cuteembroidery but no more. Sorry so many of you were upset by such a private matter. Go on with your cute designs and projects without me. Joann

I do no t think you are the one who needs to apoligize there. It was done in private, AND if time was taken to read ALL of what Gerry wrote, it is clear she appreciated it. If I offended you I truly did not mean to and I apoligize!

Do not be sorry, you have not to apologise, I think that I make many more mistakes when I write here, but I make the best that I can...I had not seen that your word was wrong.Thank you for your Daily.

English is such a difficult language. There are so many slight different spellings of words. I am sure everyone knew what was meant. Carry on the good work you are doing for us.

10073
by jofrog2000 20 Jun 2011

Are we not here to learn? No matter if it is embroidery or another language. I certainly would want someone to tell me if I was to spell something wrong-or pronounce it in person-as it might take on an entirely different meaning. Now sometimes That causes laughter. And who better to help each other than us? As long as it is done with tact, and nicely said. Can't take every correction as a personal attack, since it's hard to see the smile that goes along with it.
Certainly gerry does not need to apologize, she is just letting us know that she has learned something new. (Those homonyms will get you a lot).

Dear Gerry, I knew what you meant and I know what dozens of other members mean when they make mistakes. If the mistake was pointed out in a gentle and private fashion then someone was doing you a kindness and, of course, you have absolutely no need to apologise. As you can see no-one was upset but someone was thoughtful enough to help you.
Please continue your daily messages to us and I applaud you and thank you that you are sending them in the only language I can use.

Gerry, I am very sure we all know what you mean. We love to hear from you and I for one don't care if you use the wrong word. The English language makes very little sense. But as long as the error was pointed out politely I guess you can use the correct word from now on. I can't imagine why anyone would be offended by the wrong use of the word unless they are the grammar police.

I VERY MUCH appreciate all of your freebie post and your daily post !!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH.... oh an by the way I DON'T CARE HOW YOU SPELL ANY WORD !!! Thanks for the apology, but as others have said not necessary! I find some of the mis-spellings quite entertaining and sometimes I wonder if it's the US spelling as different to UK or Australian English :) Some I commonly find and wonder about are Boarder/Border, Angle/Angel, Kerb/Kurb/Curb, and of course Course/Coarse is another one. As long as we can work out what was meant to be said, no problem :)

Hi Gerry,

I don't think it matters how the words are spelled (spelt?) it's the thought that counts.

Two of my daughters (one is my son's wife and I count her as my daughter) are teachers and they both had this in their files. I think it's great and it just goes to show you what the brain actually can do!!!!!

"Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?"

Love and blessings Chris - and THANK YOU for all your wonderful sayings - you go girl!

Gerry, your English as a second language is better than many who have English as a first language, so I agree with many that no apology is really necessary.

The only comment I would like to make to everyone, is that if you are learning another language, and to someone who wants to learn correctly, the only way to know are using a word incorrectly is if you are told (nicely!).

I used to care about spelling but now I know so many Cuties speak other languages that I figure everyone is just doing the best they can. I probably wouldn't care unless someone accidentally used something that meant something vulgar or profane.
Your error is no big deal.

There are cuties from many parts of the world and even in translation words or phrases do not always interpret the way it was meant to be said. While noticing these slight variances in wording and knowing what is being asked or said I choose to ignore the wrong form of a word or the wrong spelling. Sometimes I have hit the send button only to see something sent that was wrong with no way to do it over. I think our cuties do a really good job and some are still getting used to using a computer while some have low eye vision and unaware they have hit a wrong key. Some even mix texting abbreviations with their posts. This is a fun site and hope this doesn't discourage others to stop posting. You do wonderful posts everyday and many are very appreciated of the time you spend putting them together. Thanks for all your effort.

I saw it but it made no difference at all. They sound the same anyway and I always have admiration for others who speak English as a second language and do it as well as you do !! I can understand what you want to convey and that is really what matters - no apology necessary !! Another star for you and I also admire people who acknowledge their errors

I would not have said a word if I saw it. My youngest daughter and my ex husband are horific spellers so the wrong word is a lot easier to overlook than trying to figure out what my own family has written most times, lol!
I got this from my husband one day
Di angle Ray today.
He used to call me Di, short for Diane, so I thought he was telling me he was going fishing iwth his buddy Ray today. I worked nights, so I read it after he left for work. The message was from the night before, he never said a word to me when he lfet for work. My elderly neighbor Angela had a unusal amount of visits so I thought I'd be respectful and not bother her, as she was busy. About 5 days later I found out from her when I went to visit her on day that her Husband Ray had died. I would have never figured out the note. I had even written a grocery list on the back side of it and showed it to her. She said she would have thought the same thing. So using the wrong word, weither it is coarse over course or which of witch, I can figure out what you are trying to say pretty easily, its the spelling that can really through me for a loop, lol!

Hi there, a word is just a word and what you feel you want to do with it. The way I see it, the difference between the U and A is, everything is A-ok and U make the difference - catch it? Gerry U R Special, thank you for the daily and please don't stop. I don't remark often but do leave * Shirl
