Which brand do you use? I want to convert from picture files to embroidery files as well as embroidery adjustments.

Plenty of info here, just click on the topics tags on the left side of this page:
digitizing; software
also type in the search topic box:
digitising, spelt with an 's'; embird
Once you have read all those posts you will be thoroughly bamboozled but should get the idea that Embird is probably the most popular if you want to really digitise and not just create Auto-digitised designs.

Just stay away from Creative drawings, it is expensive and Sooooooooo not worth its price.

Please keep in mine, you don't just convert photos to embroidery designs. When you digitize it take LOTS of time and hair pulling to make a design. If it was "easy" everyone would be doing it.

I'm just learning to work with Embird.

I guess a lot depends on budget. I use the 4D software that I purchased shortly after I got my Husqvarna Viking Designer SE. There is now a 5D out but I haven't taken the leap. I find the 4D to be user friendly and the support from Viking for classes was great. I can convert from picture to embroidery and also make the embroidery adjustments. Shop around and find what will work best for you. I know other Cuties will jump in with ideas for you! Good luck in your search.
