I am also having a problem with the thread knotting under the bobbin case to the point that I have to cut it away in order to remove my piece. It also continually breaks my thread. I cannot even get through 1 complete design. It messes up the design so badly I have to throw my project away. Is anyone else having/had these problems? If so, what did you do to remedy the situation?

Wow! I had the MC9700 and now have the MC11000SE and have never had this problem. I love my 11000SE and would recommend it to anyone. My Janome dealer is soooo good to me. They have never charged me for a cleaning and I take 3 machines to them, my seger, regular sewing machine and the MC11000SE. But, like some of the others have mentioned, I would embroider something on it before I took it back home. Your machine is still under warranty so if the problems continues I'd have them replace it. Good luck and sorry you;re having a problem with this wonderful emb machine. Carol

take machine back to dealer and get them to stitch something out and when machine is fixed before you leave the store do the same this way you know the machine is fixed. good luck

He stitched out a design before I took it last time. Said it only broke the thread once. I think he just doesn't want to have to give me my money back.

I don't have a Janome, but I agree, take it in for repair. The timing may be off, but I am sure you will need a new bobbin case. I did and it only had one little chip on it. However, my repairman did buff it down so it could be used again if necessary. It really doesn't take much to mess up a bobbin case.

I didn't have a MC9700, I had a MC Special Edition 11000...but I had the same problem! So bad that it had to be replaced...not only once, but Janome sent me three brand new machines...all of them had the same problem. I think that the Special Edition 11000 has a software problem...my girlfriend and I bought them at the same time and she had the same problem too! We both finally had to give up...dealer took them back and refunded out money. So, we gave up on Janome and bought BabyLock Ellisimo machines...LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Maybe your machine has a software problem, too. My problems were so bad that I actually had to cut the fabric off of the bobbin case with a razor blade..needless to say I ruined numerous projects. I would suggest that you go back to your dealer and try to get your machine replaced. I went through this for the better part of a year so I know how you feel. Good Luck...

Thank you for the info. I just got my machine back from the shop and it is still doing it so leads me to believe I apparently have a problem with the machine itself. Dealer told me he would send it to Janome to be fixed but not sure I want to continue with this one. Think I will ask for a new one and if problem is evident in that one too I will just have to return it and buy something else. Thanks again.

My experience was that Janome would not replace the machine unless the dealer sent it back to them to try to fix. I did this and it took them 10 weeks to return it. Had same problem as before I sent it. So, dealer contacted Janome, they sent me a new machine...same problem as the first one, so they sent me another new machine, same problem. My girlfriend also had same problems with hers. We bought them together. Janome said there was nothing wrong with the machines...but, dealer took machines back and gave us both a refund. Don't waist any more time...have your dealer send it back ASAP he has already done the whole bobbin case and needle plate switch. Take the machine to the dealer and spend the day there if necessary until it messes up and let the dealer deal with it. This is what I did and the dealer saw the problems first hand. They tried to tell me that I wasn't stabilizing correctly, my thread was bad, you name it they had an excuse..until I parked in their store, used their fabric, stabilizer and thread and they watched as the bobbin case sucked the fabric and thread down and jammed so badly they couldn't get it unjammed. We just boxed the whole thing up and sent it back to Janome all jammed up for them to deal with. Again, good luck...and they no longer are making the SE11000...Hummm

Thank you. Planning to sit my behind in their store on Friday and will stay there all day if need be. I am so disgusted with this machine! This is my very first embroidery machine and not real sure I want another. I have been machine sewing since I was 7 and dealer acts like I'm an idiot. Just infuriates me!

I was having the same problems with my Babylock ellismo and brought it in for repairs...All they did was replace the bobbin case and it now works fine....Seems one of the broken needles put a small chip on the bobbin case and that caused all the problems.....hope this helps on your machine

Sounds to me like your machine is out of time and it's something only a repairman can fix. Breaking needles and like a birds nest in the bobbin case area are big signs. call a repair man and ask. I think he will tell you the same thing. Also your bobbin case may have a chip in it from breaking needles. Good luck *4U
