Help- having hard time with symbols being used in questions/answers. I've seen the following used and can't figure them out: ;-D, ;), :D, and =D.

Clawton, yep, generation gap. I'm tooo old to read sideways, and too much of a typist to bother messing about with all that 'shift key' and thinking! I still type 90 wpm and it's so much easier just to type out words! And yes, I know the modern term is 'keyboarder' or some such, but when you learned on an old Remington manual typewriter, you really do remain a 'typist' all your life, hee hee hee!!!! LOL is about the only 'shortcut thingy' I 'get' and use. But bless all you ladies that can catch up with this new stuff, and more power to you!! Luv you all. Marji

I agree with you 100%. I also learned on a manual.

I'm with you altho I did learn on an IBM Selectric, remember those? I actually could type faster than the ball could turn! I can still type about 80 wpm or so without looking, not to bad for an old broad I guess, flower for you...

Thanks. I'm trying to keep up. I think I'll stick to my norm. Afraid I'll insult someone not knowing for sure the terms.
