this machine. I currently have an Esante ESEII it is about 8 yrs old. But will only give me around $500 dollars for a trade in with it they stated depending on the condition of the machine.( My machine only has one problem and that is winding the bobbin I don't think it would be an expensive fix.) So the machine would be $2300 maybe less. Any input would be appreciated. Or do you think I might have better luck selling my current machine?

Thanks ladies, I have about decided to keep my current machine and go for the Esante it will connect directly to the computer and will do up to a 6X10 hoop. I will not have a 4x4 hoop though. But that can be put on my wish list. Christmas is not faraway. I called the dealer that Lbrow and I use and he is going to be back in business hopefully by the first of next week. I trust him. His shop got damaged in the recent tornadoes in Al. but he said that all that damage was windows blown out. I cannot wait. I am sure the shop I called and got info on the other machine was a good place. But you have to go with who you know. And what feels right. I am excited about getting a machine that doesn't have to have a reader writer box. Yea I can finally download and go for it a lot faster. Will let you know which machine I wind up with as soon I get it.

I have an older Ellageo and a PR600. I keep the Ellageo for regular sewing now. I have had several regular sewing machines in my life and this one is the best I've ever had. I broke the threader but that was my own fault. My machine was a used one that was traded up and was only out for 9 months. It was like new with all the accessories and a warranty. I'd go for it and keep you other machine for a backup. My Pr600 was a floor model too and it has been a good machine too.

I've had the Ellageo BLL for the last three years and just love it. It stitches beautifully and has been trouble free, once I leaned it doesn't like embroidery needles. I bought it off E-Bay for $2700, it had about 9000 stitches on it and most of the accessories were still in the original factory packaging-almost brand new... I wouldn't trade it for the world. Can you afford to keep your other machine and use it for general sewing instead of switching the new one back and forth? $500 just doesn't sound like enough for such a great machine!

Sara, I would go for the upgrade - have you test driven the Ellageo? That is the first thing I would do - ask them if you can do a project or a stitch out on it - you will see the difference in your Esante and the Ellageo and with that - you might make a decision - I doubt that you will find a buyer for your Esante - it being 8 years since you purchased it, unless you know someone that is in the market for getting started in embroidery. They are good machines, but don't hold their value after a year or so, it is such a shame.

I don't know anything about this machine, but I had a Janome Memory 7 for 30 yrs. with absolutely no problems. It has NEVER had to be repaired! So when I was looking at getting a new machine I wanted another Janome, but this time with the embroidery and got the MC11000SE and love it! Whatever you decide- make sure your dealer/repair place is close.
I was going to keep my old machine, but my son asked me for it for his wife and after considering it decided she would take as good (or better) care of it as I would so I gave it to her on condition that if she decided she didn't want it for any reason - I was to get it back. I figured I prob. wouldn't get much for it because of it's age and now wish I had kept it as when the 11000 is doing emb. I can't sew.

I don't have that particular machine but have a thought on trade/sell. I upgraded in January (Brother) and the deal did not include a trade (it was a really good deal). I have been trying to sell my old machine (Brother PE780D) and only had a couple of inquiries - no serious buyers (at least none with the cash). So, if you don't think you want to keep the old one as a backup, or if you don't know of someone you would be able to sell it to, I would trade it in and take the discount.

I am unable to give you any specific information on the Baby Lock...
But, I can speak to the joys of upgrading.
I went from a great machine in the Janome 350e to an absolutely amazing machine in the Janome 11000se. In this case, the actual embroidery part of the machine is literally the same machine.
However, the enhancements are delightful.

As to trading in or selling your current machine....
Is there anyone you love enough to sell them your current machine? Even if you sell it at the trade in value... it is pretty rewarding to "hook" someone else on this wonderful world of machine embroidery. (I gave my first machine to my daughter and continue to delight in her joy and discoveries. Plus, it gives us a neutral subject to talk about.)

Good luck with your decisions.

I have an Ellageo and I really like it..have considered upgrading but can't at this time...make sure you check the machine year and how many repairs it's had as a floor model..the price sounds good if the machine is fairly new and not used too much. Good Luck!

Thanks for you input. I do appreciate it. I bought my current machine as a floor model and it has serve me very well. So I a a little hesitant about getting rid of it.I gave $1600 for it about 6or 7 yrs ago.
