it won't sew properly. I am now thinking the so called fluff was there for a purpose. Got onto the Net to see if I could buy another foot. After 3 hours checking everywhere decided to send Brother here in Australia an e-mail to see where I could buy a replacement.

Thankgoodness I have a message from them here this morning. Now I have to ring around the suggested places and just hope they have one in stock or order for me. The Brother site here in Australia has changed and I found it so frustrating. Maybe now my headache will go away.

Hi Lyn - I'm glad you've been promised another foot pedal after all your searching.
Today is your bobbin lace day and you've probably gone off to your lesson now but I'm wishing you all the luck in the world for the replacement pedal to be in the post very, very soon.

Alma.

Hello Alma, Not the foot pedal. Spotlight rang me on Thursday so I went and purchased the replacement foot. When I got home I compared them. The new foot didn't have the so called fluff, but I noticed that there was a drop of oil under a spring on the foot. I put a drop of oil on my old foot and WOW! it works again. Anyone for a spare embroidery foot for a Brother. Didn't have the heart to take it back as they ordered it for me especially. It was only $24.15.

I am SO glad you are getting the needed part soon. It is most frustrating to have something like this happen to your machine! It puts a "kink" in our embroidering mode!

Luckily I have ordinary sewing to go on with. I was half way through the embroidery project then had to change to the ordinary sewing, so now I can finish the first half.

When I get the new foot I will examine it closely and see if it also had the so called fluff. If it has then I know I was stupid. If not then I have a spare embroidery foot.

Good News - I rang the shop where I purchased my machine 5 years ago. They will have to order the foot for me and I have to be patient, but at least I will be back in business in the near future.
