Hi 'CUTE' family, I went to my daughter's house today to embroider a couple shirts. We decided to have a day working together on projects, I was stitching away and realized that I had >>>more>>>

Loretta, Sounds like you have had an exciting day. with your daughter. Don't worry and wear that shirt. It is a "Loretta Original" I bet there will be many complments on it. As for the bobbin I like jrob buy the prewound bobbins Very reasonable & Always ready. A flower for you.

How good that you can work with your daughter. And you will get things figured out. We all have little "brain fluffs" and is better if we admit them. Hope you had a good day, and are able to work things out for your shirt. I have learned that I have to print out my design color chart, or I will wind up with odd colored designs. The colors on my machine don't always look like what they should. My grandson and I wound up embroidering a pink labrador for his mom a couple years back. He didn't want to start over, and she still has it hung over her desk at work. *4u

Dearest Loretta, I hope you had a good laugh with your daughter! My late best friend Doris and I used to go shopping, and have lots of 'senior moments' together, and simply laugh to beat the band over them. We got to laughing so hard in a rather upscale department store once that the clerk came over to ask us if we were ok. "Nooooooo!" we replied, tears of laughter streaming down our faces. Luckily she didn't ask us to leave, because I'm sure we couldn't have found the door at that point. Enjoy your time with your daughter, and wear your green flowers proudly!! My florist sells green carnations, and not just at St Pat's day, just tell her that!! As for bobbin winding, does your machine have a little thing like a short spool holder, probably on the top right side of the machine? You put the thread thru the hole in the bobbin, hold on to the thread, put the bobbin on that pin, and push the whole thing to the right. There should be a kind of little cam shaped thingy there, that's what stops the bobbin winding when the bobbin is full. Your thread is on your machine, of course, and usually just goes through one little tension disc on top of the machine, not thru the whole thread path. Then just press start, hold on to that thread tail till the bobbin has enough thread on it so it won't slip, and wind away. I have to watch my machine closely, as it tends to wind that thin bobbin thread on the spindle instead of the bobbin. I hope this helps, if you have a machine like mine. If not, tell us what you have & somebody will know! You have a beautiful day, my dear friend. Love you. Marji

Loretta my love, I have days like that all of the time... just sit back, take a big breath, praise GOD in heaven for ALL things and start again when you're ready. Loretta, you bring a smile to my heart. xoxo May you be richly blessed this fine day.

Loretta, what a wonderful thing to get to have a project day with your daughter. When I sew out something that isn't exactly what "I" thought it should be, I just claim artistic license, smile and go on about my merry way! If folks think differently, so what! ha ha. With that smile you wear, I don't think anyone question ANYTHING you do! Rag, Nothing! That is a unique work of art and you tell her I said so! {big grin};)

Sorry Loretta but just tell people you wanted it that way- you were just experimenting! There must be a flower someplace in the world like that! I done that also- I wasn't paying close attention and put the wrong color thread in- so I just changed the color scheme.

I also thought that was such a nice idea. The thought that daughter and mother can do those things is wonderful.

well i'll take your dusting rag over my pile of 'recycle needles), for some reason I'm snapping them left and right while quilting. This isn't my first quilt so guess I'm losing it too, it's he-- to get old, oh well as my mother used to say, "It's better than the alternative".

Hello, try cleaning out the lint from under your bobbin carriage. The smallest piece of thread (1/4 inch) can break needles right and left. Using your little brush that came with your machine. It straightened out my identical problem with my new machine.

I was wondering where you were yesterday and made a comment. Happy to see you back. I know what a bad day is (mine was yesterday too) But, Loretta dear, Today Is a New Day, PTL! *4U

Well look at it this way. You can always embroider on a contrasting piece of material & stitch it over the boo boo. This can work.If you can't find your user manual, you should be able to download one from the manufactures web site.Or what machine do you have? Someone might have the same & maybe email you that section to help you out for now. Then post you a copy of the book later. We all understand these things happen.*4u Debbie

OH Loretta, I am sure it wasn't all that bad - when we make mistakes - we just need to sit back and start again. If the shirt can not be fixed - no big deal use is as a sampler - if you can't get the stitches out - which usually you can't - try it on another shirt and remember this life lesson. Another time - another day. Learn how to use your machine so things like this don't occure again or better yet - take a beginner class with your daughter along and both of you learn on that same machine. Let us know what happens - you just must have had a bad day, because you were so excited to be with your daughter enjoying something you both must enjoy. *4U

Loretta sweetie, I think we've all probably made this mistake, and it's so good that you can laugh about it. If it looks too bad, you've got yourself a shirt to wear around the house, haha. And it sounds like a good excuse to buy yourself another shirt and have another go - and I'm betting you don't make the same mistake on it either. Hugs and a flower sweetie.

Ruthie, I just couldn't believe it when she said that I would have a good rag. I know that it isn't perfect, but it is still good work. HaHa. But I can't figure out how to load the bobbin.

Loretta, I hope you still have the manual that goes with your machine. Otherwise see your dealer. It's little problems like that that makes life difficult at times. Sometimes I can't explain how to do something, but for some reason my hands seem to remember. Hope you soon succeed in loading a bobbin. There are threaded bobbins for sale, although they aren't cheap. Good luck, sweetie.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>more>>>>>>>> made a big error. For some reason my design was looking a bit strange. My leaves were brown, my flowers were green and I ran out of bobbin thread and couldn't remember how to wind the bobbin. My daughter just laughed and told me that I would have a great dusting rag, little does she know, I still want that bird in the tree on that shirt. HaHa. Well, maybe next time for a new project for me. Loretta

Errors are that big of a deal - really - you will bounce back, just have fun - we know you know how to use your machine - so don't fret about this. Really!
