How many of you are as intimidated with your serger as I am of mine? Saw something really neat and want to give it a try. It was called serger crochet - got to watch Sewing with Nancy this am -

I had not heard of that before. If you do it please post a picture in the project section. I too get imtimidated by the serger. I love it but... Mine converts from serger to a cover stitch. I never remember how to get it accomplished with out getting frustrated.

dlonna, I can't watch *sewing with nancy*, but is serger crochet the same as serger lace? You just *catch* the edge of the fabric with the stitching, and let the stitching extend from the edge of the fabric, you do this as many times as you like to give a lacy look. I'm interested to know if it's the same or different. I've done the lace, it looks good, hugs and a flower sweetie.

That was a bit difficult to explain, but each additional row of stitching goes over the previous row, thus adding length to the lace. Hope that explains it better!

That s probably it ruthie - they decreased the stitch as they did the rounds and it caused the stitces to ruffle. Very pretty.

and it was so neat. They did it around batiste hankie and it looked like hand crochet. i may have to break mine out of the cover and give it a try.

There is a book - but don't really need another one. They had it around a doilie and it reminded me of the ones my grandmother made by hand. Beautiful.
